    Actually, they do. This is so that:
    - Action can be taken pre-emptively while they still have time to take it as such.
    - There is no excuse for thinking that the XIV playerbase won't care.

    This is something that should have been looked into AND dealt with about 9 months ago when the whole deal started and it became apparent there were issues. And as it is a billing/financial matter, it is NOT bound by the dev team's development cycle, workload or a need for server fixes.

    As it wasn't fixed before the XI transfer started, this only emphasizes the need to gain as much exposure on the topic as possible at it must have not sufficiently permeated through to the persons concerned in these financial arrangements. Else XI wouldn't be in the mess they are in and we wouldn't be looking at having the same mess happen in the not too distant future.

    P.P.S. If you think Chocobits is slandering Square Enix, then I'm guilty for doing the same - with the distinction that this time I have backed up my statements with proof that their decisions were not the best for FFXI/XIV.
    Well no, I was doing some trolling and slandering before, he's right. Which isn't the best way to get your voice heard. Now that I've cooled off a bit, I'm back to fighting clean. If we're going to protest this we can't step on any toes while we do it. If the toes are too big though, we'll tread first and apologize later.

    Also, if you haven't noticed already, you know how a German Shepherd fights? His jaws lock when he sinks his teeth into some flesh and won't let go until he's satisfied with the outcome.

    We are like that. We are refusing to let go of this issue. We will stay with it until it's resolved, or when we are forced to leave the game we have grown to love.

    People are way to demanding on things that can not be handled carelessly.

    SE says "we are looking into it" and sometimes that is all they can tell you, what if this goes legal? Then they really cant tell you squat. I know that if I was head of PR, I would not say crap unless I knew 100% what I was about to say was going to be true/accurate.

    I mean really so many expect these forum admins to know things about internal SE workings, and/ expect them to contact people that do (which they cant)

    At this point when you are losing subscribers in FFXI and are likely facing the potential for an exodus in FFXIV, I don't think you can really handle this issue with kid gloves. Especially on the business side of things. If I were working in Square Enix, I would tell them to drop ClickandBuy like a wet, soiled pair of diapers and find an acceptable alternative within two months, and I would mandate that Paypal be used as a direct payment option.

    It's not that hard to set up a Square Enix direct payment account on PayPal.

    Well, that depends. At one point SE had an F rating with the BBB and it may be that PayPal won't do business with them. There are still alternatives though. Look how many options Steam users have.

    Or the lack thereof. Everybody that a customer can interact with is basically behind a virtual wall, and are required to go by a strictly-rehearsed checklist. It's impersonal, it's very frustrating, and it's not a very positive experience.

    I said if I was working in PR, PR could not make any of those decisions for the company, nor can you make those decisions at the drop of a hat.

    It was an F/E for a good while because right when FFXI came out in the US, alot of people made complaints to the BBB for the stupidest of reasons about the game.
