Think before you join someone's clear party.

"Poetic Princess" here. I want to start by saying that I think such terms are derogatory. I got a lot of flak for a post I made recently about elitism, but it seems to me that this community has turned the term "elitist" on its head. The only definition of elitist most of you will accept is: "someone with a jerk attitude who looks down on other people." Then you define someone who values effort this way. Meanwhile, you yourselves call people names like "Poetic Princess" and "Tomestone Hero."

This makes no sense to me.

1) The people who do this are hypocrites: "Don't look down on me but I'll look down on you."

2) They create lose-lose scenarios for others: "We want you to be geared for Coil but we'll ridicule you if you don't have Coil gear."

3) They create lose-lose scenarios for themselves: "We want groups that try but we'll ridicule up and comers along the way until they give up."

4) They make attribution errors: "If I do well, it's because of skill. If you do well, it's because you were carried. If I do poorly, it's because of lag. If you do poorly, it's because you're garbage."

5) They think everyone has equal opportunity: "Just play with 7 skilled friends many hours per day. Why you no do dis?"

6) They forget winning is a team effort: "My gear proves that I am great. Your gear proves that you suck."

7) They discount loot drops: "Even though there are players that have run this content many dozens of times with no drop, the reason you don't have that drop is that you suck."

8) They have an egocentric way of seeing the world: "Content is easy because I find it easy. I don't have trouble seeing Shiva's AOEs so you must not have trouble seeing Shiva's AOEs. We have the exact same eyesight, hearing, reflexes, and muscle memory (even though I've done the content 100s of times and you haven't)."
