A lot of us do Coil, just at a more gradual pace, so it's not necessarily that we can't get Coil gear, more just that we haven't gotten there yet. For someone like me, who has used relic and crafted gear to customize stats, FCoB gear offers very little, if any, improvement over what we have.

    Some examples (I main WAR):
Dreadwyrm helm vs. Tome helm: I get unneeded accuracy and I trade crit for parry (a bad trade imo)
Dreadwyrm body vs Tome body: I trade parry for dtr (decent trade)
Dreadwyrm hands vs. Tome hands: I get accuracy and skill speed, neither of which I need in exchange for dtr and parry (a bad trade)
Dreadwyrm belt vs. Tome belt: I exchange accuracy for parry and crit for dtr, a good trade if I didn't need the accuracy.
Dreadwyrm legs vs. Tome legs: I exchange accuracy and parry for crit and dtr, another good trade if I didn't need the accuracy (that amount of accuracy is going to be hard to make up.)
Dreadwyrm feet vs. Tome feet: I lose some accuracy (which I currently need) and dtr for parry (a bad trade).

Anyway, my point is, most Dreadwyrm gear isn't an upgrade. The only piece I'd definitely use is the body and that drops from T13. So for some using all poetics gear is:

    - their only option (they can't beat Coil)
    - a conscious choice (the gear is not an improvement)
    - or a mixture of both (they don't put more effort into beating Coil because the gear isn't an improvement)
Considering every class has their best weapon if you don't include the relic available in 13, also every single physical class including tank has 2-3 left side DW pieces in their BiS so there isn't any reason to not venture into at least 10-11 for gear as there is pieces that people need there. For a damage tank you'll want the body, legs, hands, DRG wants head, hands, belt. MNK wants hands and feet, NIN wants Head, hands and feet.

As you can see most pieces are from the "easier" FCOB so the time invested versus the gear gained shouldn't be too high and unless they are unable to beat coil which is usually due to not caring about learning their classes properly and deserve the term poetics warrior/princess. Of course some people have trouble beating coil due to bad groups but they know their classes well, these people should definitely not be called poetics warriors and the difference is usually quite clear as you don't really check the gear of someone who is doing DPS close to what is considered high DPS or a tank that is tanking properly.

Sadly though the majority of people I come along who wear all poetics and are at i130 deal less DPS than my i120 tank.

Well, that's how you get the BiS for your class, by combining both sets of gear and getting the best stat balance for it. It's well known among tanks that det > crit is the way to go, so you're in the right path so far.

I found myself in the same situation several times. So I try to find a way to tell him, like seeing him way behind the emnity list (white bars) (also I'm aware of Quelling Strikes, but still if it might be too noticeable if the DPS was like 200ish, for example), after noticing (And tell them) we had a slow phase transition. To be honest, I really feel bad when I have to tell the DPS that his damage output is low, and even if I mentioned that I might kick them out the group, it's not like I go and say "Ok, you're useless, get out of my group". It's really tough for me to be in these situations and I try to tell them and make them understand that their performance is below our expectation via tell and when we're out. Humiliating that person in party chat is a no-no.

Most of the time I'm truly busy coordinating the whole group and calling out every single mechanic on TS (I will always prefer this since communication makes things easier), so I don't pay attention to their rotation.

This is true for BiS, but many players don't really care about it. They're not trying to min/max their characters, they're trying to get gear they like in a way they enjoy. If you already have the level 130 poetics gear when dreadwyrm drops, you may not see it as an upgrade, thus you can get to i13 without a single scrap of Dreadwyrm gear. It doesn't make the player more or less competent, but neither does it stop people making quick judgments based on that fact.

What bothers me more is people will rudely complain about someone's DPS when it's still at acceptable levels simply because it doesn't match the min/maxers in that group. It's like they want everyone to be the best of the best, but don't want to give them the time of day to get better at it. People learn best by doing. You can watch videos until your face wrinkles from old age, but it won't help until you put it into practice.

This happens alot. Tried to clear an FC member last night we had 3 people with t13 clears to help but 2 people who joined from the PF ruined the person we were trying to clears chance by joining not know how elementals worked. Which I specifically put in the PF info. They even had the nerve to ask if everyone knew the fight. Then proceeded to wipe us repeatedly with lighting or doing fire wrong. So eventually I just apologized to our fc mate and disbanded because he didn't have anymore time to try. We tried to be patient and forgiving but it just wasn't going g to happen.
