I think it will greatly punish new players. However I don't care since I have it unlocked on both my toons. So it doesn't affect me! HAHA!
I really don't care about SE's bad decisions on dungeons and lockouts now. Fanboys will love it regardless.

How dose it punish? Can't do the new stuff at level 1 20 or 30 so how dose it punish I wish people would stop complaining on this because it's for story purpose for crying out loud. Its also going to help keeping rmts and bots out of the new areas.

Nothing in the game is dynamic. All your doing is extending a script someone made since nothing changes.
See all those black mages running around? Probably doing the story over/over for gems? Scripts.

Stone Vigil HM last boss, and Thornmarch both HM and EX would like to have a word with you.
Even if DRK was available to play in 2.0, Bluevann's friend would have had to play on a different class up to 30 before he'd be able to pick up DRK. It just sounds like he's unwilling to try something different because he's so fixated on this one type of weapon. I'd hate to hear how he'd react to having to get cross-class abilities even if he were able to start as DRK.

Well, i'd love to fight you with "What Ifs" however they don't even have a chance to try, so who cares?Stone Vigil HM last boss, and Thornmarch both HM and EX would like to have a word with you.

No it's not, Do you really think RMT don't have an army of black mages that already done steps of faith?

I agree, compelling a new player to play an advanced job without properly understanding party dynamics and a more rudimentary version of the three roles therein, would certainly equate to punishing them.
Like sheep to the slaughter.

At no point has SE called these "advanced" jobs. As far as anyone knows at this point, the new jobs are neither more powerful nor more complex than the jobs we have currently.
This is a very poor argument.
As for "players who won't try because they can't play DRK" meaning they're flaky players... So what? Flaky or not, that's money not going into SE's pockets that could be going there. Strikes me as bad business. Even if they don't stick around to keep the subscription money flowing in, that initial investment shouldn't be taken lightly.
I don't like the idea that a game that I'm so invested in is being head by folks with poor business sense. I want the game to thrive, not fail.

If you really think sacrificing creative freedoms (and thus affecting the existing player base negatively) for a few thousand dollars of profit (compared to MILLIONS already coming in monthly) is good business sense, you're destined to fail lol. You might be drastically overestimating the amount of people this affects negatively. At no point has SE called these "advanced" jobs.
