If you want to make those assumptions about people, fine. At least admit to the negativity that you yourself help propagate with those assumption of.

A quick Google search about elitism shows that the term and the negative connotations that come with it, in particular their treatment of newer players, are not some recent invention and has been around for years across multiple mmo games as a descriptor of poor behavior.
