What she saidweird i remember lots of the best gear in ffxi from outside raids...
like byakkos haidate, the haste belt thing, af pieces, the awesome brd body, emps hairpin, leapin boots,
For almost every job in ffxi you got your equip from a mix of gods, hnms/nms, ksnms/bcnms, quests, large raids, small raids, unlocking though use. Point is it wasnt ALL raids. Having a mix is great. having all raids makes this WoW

Yeah I totally enjoyed sitting in Dragon's Aery for three hours browsing the internet until some bot claimed Fafnir so I could go AFK in Behemoth's Dominion for three hours then log off. They were, but farming triggers was usually more of a social event than a raid. You weren't always focused on rushing through a dungeon or pure tactics. You could just chill out and talk about stuff while you tried to spawn things. Same with HNM camping. some people really like the laidback kind of thing while others just want to go straight for the action.
FFXIV: ARR item database, ability lists, maps, guides, dungeon loot lists and more. - http://www.ffxivinfo.com
I'll quit when the game goes weiner-centric (wait what? see sig for details)
clearly its not your cup of tea, but others liked it. If you hated it so much back then...why did you do it? Hell why would you do it if it got added here? Your not competitive and want the best gear do you O.o
Well I'm sorry if I have higher standards for "fun" than you do. To me, standing around doing literally NOTHING for hours, just waiting for single mob to pop is the most excruciating, un-fun thing I can imagine doing in a video game. NMs wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't the whole "camping" thing that went along with them. Actually fighting the NM itself can be great fun, but having to camp the NM just ruins the whole experience, especially when you're sitting there for three hours (or more) and you lose the claim to some bot. I have better things to with my time than waste it on bullshit like that. I'm not in high school anymore. I don't have endless hours I can just blow out the window. My time is a valuable asset to me, and I will not play video games that waste it.
Well said. I totally agree 110%. (^_^)b

It has nothing to do with competetiveness, it has to do with connection quality, retarded repop times, bots, and of course RMT doing everything they can to kill you throughout the fight. You seriously think there arn't better ways to implement LS competition and rare drops than waiting hours on end for nothing, day after day?clearly its not your cup of tea, but others liked it. If you hated it so much back then...why did you do it? Hell why would you do it if it got added here? Your not competitive and want the best gear do you O.o
EDIT: Another point I want to make, "others liked it." Yea some people, a small fraction of the population. Most people werent even able to get involved in the top linkshells that dominated these spawns. It was content available to less than 3% the player base. I'm a fan of strategizing with big groups to take down HNMs, but I would hope you see the difference between the amount of ppl who killed Kirin with those that killed KB. One was fun and something to look forward to, the other was completely unreasonable. With some of the sky pop NMs, even that was unreasonable. Maybe you have a blank schedule but not everyone can farm for hours on end during the week, REQUIRED to keep your LS, for some fights on the weekend, were you just watch the ppl with no lives who have 50x your points take all the loot anyways.

Because it's so unfair to give people that want to play the game something to do that isn't 5 minutes re-entry, instanced repop poop items.
If you don't want to camp NMs no one is forcing you. (Just like no one is forcing you to level up hurrdurr). You just don't want people to have better items than you because you can't commit the same amount of time as them.
If someone really considers themselves "casual" they wouldn't care either way.
Want to know what I seriously think? I seriously think you don't even play the game.
No, I don't care if someone else has better items than me. I just don't want the core of endgame content to revolve around an activity I hate like it did in FFXI.
Naturally people who can commit more time are always going to have better items, but that doesn't mean the method of getting items should be something that frustrates most of the people who participate in it.

You'd have to prove to me that numbers wise there is are enough players who want this to dedicate development time to content that what I am feeeling a majority of the players would not use.Because it's so unfair to give people that want to play the game something to do that isn't 5 minutes re-entry, instanced repop poop items.
