This thread has made me realize something:
I'm going about making gil ALL wrong.
Should sell light farm premades. Yes, yes, that's it... And zodiac speed runs. Mmmm... I taste the awesome from here!

I've read a lot of what you've been saying, and concluded that you are in fact, worse than the sellers you find immoral. When people sell a service (which often times uses up their time, like a plumber that's come to fix your heating) for gil, they're participating in a transaction of a physical currency. You on the other hand, are doing it maybe because you believe in karma and want better karma, maybe you're religious and want your deity to see how much of a good boy/girl you are, maybe you do things to feel good about yourself, or as seems to be the case, you do it so you can act morally superior to others. Whatever the reason is, it's still a currency, good karma points, that tingly feeling of doing something good, having your deity tick more boxes in your favor for an after-life, or more examples to try beating people around the head with in a verbal discussion. Why this makes you worse, is that those of us that use a physical currency, we're not hiding what we're doing, you're blinding yourself to the currency you receive because it's not something you can spend in the real world that other people will accept. There is a benefit, it is simple the case that it is something you (and many others like you) do not value. That benefit is the satisfaction of helping someone, and if that player is on your server, the benefit might develop into a friendship. But hey, I guess gil is worth more than personal satisfaction, or potential friendship - to some.
How dare people help each out for FREE!? The savages.
Seriously, best crazy I've read all day. Thank you.
I have close to 90 million gil and two houses to my name (a medium for my FC and a small for me), so that automatically means that I participate in RMT? How about no. In fact, I probably detest RMT even more than the average player. It destroys the economy, which has always been a fun part of any game for me. I don't have the kind of real life cash that would allow me to have that much money, not to mention SE's staff would have to be asleep at the wheel to not have tracked down a huge amount of gil like that by now. I don't believe in having a bot program play the game for me. I'd much rather play it myself. I actually don't participate in selling runs regularly. I've done a few here and there, but it's very spotty at best; usually I end up helping friends or friends of friends clear for free.
It's quite easy to earn massive amounts of gil in this game if you learn what to do and dedicate enough time to it. I try to keep a full 4 retainers worth of items on the market at all times. Even if I'm busy, I try to keep them at least half full. I keep it diverse, selling everything from food to base mats like ingots to stuff I grow in my garden. I spiritbond while doing most things in game; anything from farming to grinding out base mats to making relics sees me rolling around in level 39, 49, or 70 accessories. Most people that complain about not being able to earn gil either don't have the know-how, the time, or the drive to do so. It's just like anything else in the game - it takes skill and it takes work.

Hell... I don't even craft or spiritbond, but have made millions in this game from just random stuff. This game throws it at you from every possible direction. I'm sure those who set out to exploit this fact can make 100's of millions.
Ququ I didn't read Kosmos's original posts cause I really cba and I'm wondering why you're still posting in this thread...but nevertheless, if they want to do it for comradery and community spirit than they are entitled to that without you having to make it a personal dig against someone's intentions or beliefs. You have no clue from some forum posts who they are or what drives them.
Edit: I still heart you and your fatass cankles. :*
