You brought the semantics of definition and word meaning into this, not my fault that it worked against you.
If you wanted to convey something different, then perhaps you should have used a different word than engaging because what it means and the connotations that are implied with it do not match with what you later clarified as what you meant. That's not being "literal", that's knowing how to use words properly.

The reason that I have responded to you as aggressively as I have is due to the fact that you tried to belittle my statements and opinions with statements that were based solely on your opinion yet presented in a very much "you are wrong" way. If you had expressed yourself in a manner such as, "to me Oath swapping is not enough to keep me truly engaged with PLD", I would have no issue. Instead you responded with the somewhat snide comment of " and I guess the majority of the people don't feel like this makes Paladin anymore engaging" followed by trying to tear down my statements with semantic arguments.

Don't come at someone aggressively or somewhat rude and then expect no retaliation or retort.

At this point I feel this argumentative tangent has gone on long enough and so I will leave it at this.

Yourself and perhaps some others don't feel engaged by PLD, even with Oath swapping.
That is fine.

Myself and perhaps some others feel that Oath swapping makes PLD more engaging.
That is fine.

People should try it out and judge for themselves.
