Man, reading all this kind of makes me a bit worried that the events of this patch might just be kind of a big joke.

What I'm saying is, keep the scions dead! :/ If they get brought back out of the blue for 'reasons' it's just gonna feel cheap and really annoying. Besides, the scions kinda suck anyways character wise. The merchant that picks you up at the end has more personality than all of the scions combined.

I honestly hope that some of the scions stay gone permanently. What good is the comic-book death scene? Their sacrifice is meaningless if they just come back.

One of the frustrating things for me was the scene where Ilberd and Raubahn fight. The scions and your character are right there and after he frees you there was no reason not to help take Ilberd down. No matter how juiced up Ilberd is, we wouldn't have just sat there to watch.

that probably wont happen. i expect they are coming back because of the VA's future works

No, their sacrifice is just meaningless.

After all, what is the point in holding them off when they have a full-fledged hero alongside them? I could've whipped out a sword and cut through dozens of them. It's not a noble sacrifice if you die for no reason at all. It would've made more sense to cave in the tunnel and prevent them from being able to follow. You know, like Y'shtola was planning to do only with less burying herself under it too. If I can cast a Holy spell which puts a dent into the Ultimate Weapon then you can bet Y'shtola can cast a spell to break a bit of rock. Honestly, it feels like a quick and dirty way to clean the slate so we have a new cast of characters in the expansion.

There really were plenty of better ways to go about it.

Absolutely.

We know they're going to make their reappearance and the methods they used were flat out stupid. Just closing the portcullis, without leaving the scions on the other side of it, would have probably slowed down the brass blades and crystal braves enough to get to the tunnel. Same with the cave in.

The fact that they brought the azure dragoon back shows that we've got more comic book death-return scenes a-comin'

Also, while understandable that they did, I'm amused they listed Louisoix's VA in the credits. Being only up to T8, I hadn't known we actually got to hear him talk.

Oh, some of their positions can certainly be divisive. At least they're getting cut down to size? But we could lend the others a hand with a one-way ticket on the Raubahn Express.
