I hear ya, I run it for the weekly to shore up my alts(BLK) right side from the 110s, but my main(WAR) out gears this stuff anyway(even my 110STR crafted dps set is better now) so I'm just waiting till the item restrictions are lifted before I worry about getting the sets for glams.

Just doing it for the Twine feels like a chore. I hate feeling like an elitist fellow, but that raid brings out the absolute worst in me. Especially when I see 7-11 people getting KO'd by Level 150 Death (this just... it makes me facepalm so hard I find myself with the 30 minute penalty). I get people may be new, but... if you see an AoE/tether on you, get out of the circle of death!

Or the sheer amount of people who don't understand the concept of turning around to avoid Mortal Gaze still. How many times do they need to die from doom for that to sink in? It's the simplest mechanic to avoid. Had a Tank who got hit every single time recently and each time he got doom he ran around trying to wipe it pulling the boss around with him so it's beam hits everyone.

When people start pointing fingers I always try to explain to everyone in the raid what do to when we face it again. Usually there's mechanic screw ups and calmly explaining it will help more than anything. Often times it helps diffuse a salt storm that's near critical levels. Sure I can get mad too but getting mad at people is just going to lengthen the time I'm spending in a place I only need to run once for carbon/twine/coat that week.

WoD's first boss is great though. I love it. The amount of people that mortal/gazed or Brand of the --- is hilarious. Doesn't usually wipe but it's fun to see who is new and who isn't. I've had pretty good experiences running the weekly on Tuesday nights, right after the resets. Weekends are another story....

Never do this. It both risks a wipe and prolongs the fight to no benefit.

The majority of the damage vs Cerberus is done by killing the stomach walls. By delaying Cerberus getting back up, you're prolonging the time before he gets hungry again. Killing the stomach walls causes Cerberus to take 25% of his max HP in damage. It's impossible to get Cerberus to 0% before he eats the second set of DPS. If you get him below 25% before that point, any damage past 25% is wasted when he takes his 25% hit from the people inside. Most times I run WoD, Cerberus is at 23%-26% when the stomach walls go down the second time, without delaying the chains. Even when he's at 26%, he dies before getting back up the second time. Even if he was at 28%, an LB would take him out when the DPS get outside. That wipe-risking "free DPS" ultimately gives no benefit.

There are zero legitimate reasons to delay the chains the first time he goes down. People who do are either misinformed or trolls. I assume the former, but many people assume the latter.

If one wishes to argue that it's fine because no one should ever make a mistake and drop the chain at the last minute by accident, I point to the OP and several of my last runs of WoD as evidence to the contrary. People make mistakes. Setting it up so a mistake equals a wipe is unproductive. Minimize the chance for one person's mistake to wipe the raid and there will be fewer wipes. In my opinion, the first boss should have two MTs (in case one misses a Doom and dies), each poison puddle at the second boss should have two people in it (in case one runs out at the last minute spawning an uberslime), two OTs should tank the Wolfsbanes, all DPS should go inside, and no one should hold chains for free DPS on Cerberus, and everyone should stop DPSing and poke the shadowlurkers on Cloud of Darkness. Doubling up on Meteors isn't a bad idea either.

If you don't want wipes, introduce redundancy in case someone makes a mistake. And don't hold onto chains.

    The end.

You just see them get marked then they run in circles and on the purple one they are being chased by 3-4 people trying to save them lol.
Whenever I OT, I position myself to get the dragonflies right off, and have CDs ready. I pop one just before the first hit, and.... just before it goes off, a DPS runs in, grabs the tether from me, runs around in circles and dies. I just... I have no words sometimes. This isn't an isolated incident, it happens nearly every freaking time x_x I've stopped bothering to Cover them when they do this, because if I do, they run over and pass it on.

Once when I Covered someone with a purple marker, they sprinted away from me and got out of Cover range before the hit fell and one-shotted them. I just... Yeah.

The problem isn't just the OTs, though I'll agree that most tanks just queue so they can be bad DPS, especially on Aether. I wrote a post about this, and the responses from tanks speak for themselves:

Not everybody is actually aware that there's target-face mechanics in this game because nothing outright tells you this and only select few enemies even have this sorta thing - Melusine, some eyeball type enemies, Angramainyu and Boogey (actually snakes in Silvertear and possibly Qarn HM also do this). Eventually somebody will notice they dodged it but will they make the correct assumption about how it happened? It seems obvious to not look at something called Mortal Gaze but in reality it's not (the other Doom mechanic in this game doesn't have this property so people might as well go with "so I just chase the lit up panel like in Qarn"). Plus DPS might be too focused on their rotation to notice the castbar, that happens too.

I envy you. When I mentioned the 7-11 people getting KO'd to Level 150 Death, this was on the day after reset. Some of the people KO'd wore WoD gear...

Our run went well until Cerberus when I accidentally wiped the raid because I didn't realize his chains could time out before you applied them to the collar (thought I'd be smart and prolong the time he couldn't attack).
To be fair, if you didn't know exactly how that mechanic worked you shouldn't be touching the chains. :< Especially when the raid has been out for a few months already. My gut reaction would have been assuming that you were trolling too :/

It's like the people in Castrum Meridianum who grab the cannons and then just... sit there. No touchy if you dunno how to do it. :<

In fairness, that aoe circle is really hard to see, unlike Flare's.
