"... and so I close, realizing that perhaps the ending has not yet been written."
This is correct - when you preordered a physical copy of ARR in Australia prior to launch the store gave you a bonus voucher which seemed to be printed specifically for Australia (it had a Australian Classification Board 'check classification' icon in the corner).
Ironically, these vouchers were hardly uncommon - by one stage, my local EB Games store was literally giving them away (this was after launch) - I really should have grabbed a second one for my brother who started playing. So hopefully, this will be how the preorder code will be handled again with Heavensward.
Guess we keep bumping this thread maybe Se eu will get off there arse learn Japanese and figure this shit out!! Because lets all be aware Se North America Se eu have no power and no clue other than banning ppl on the forums the Japanese have all the power lost in translation is my saying for this!!!
I guess that's one thing to note. Posted about 3 days ago, Concerning the Amazon Pre-order page being listed as sold out. Even if it's about North America, It's at least something kinda.
Never mind... scratch that....
I just phoned EB customer support and they said they still have no information about whether there are to be any preorder codes at all to be provided because the AU buyers are still in negotiations....
What maddens me the most is that SE has known for months about preorders, release dates etc, and yet did not bother to coordinate with vendors ahead of time to ensure that the confusion expressed over the past week could be mostly avoided.... It should not have taken over 40 dev rep reply posts to threads full of confusion and panic before the information in the FAQ was readily available, and it should not be the case where people, such as AUS/NZ players, are still left in the dark, with no idea as to when all this BS will be finally sorted out.
All I want is to be confident that I have successfully preordered a proper copy of Heavensward, that I have my preorder code, and all I need to do is to wait for the preorder cod entry site to go live..
Instead I have a tentative preorder on a ARR+HW copy of the game with a company that is using this as a "placeholder" item in their system because a week after preorders started they still have little to no information on pricing, preorder codes or whether EB games will even be stocking the CE collection at all....
It is so frustrating being told on these forums by reps one thing, and then the actual retailer contradicting everything

The store in my area only had PS3 open beta trial codes on a card with Gaius van Baelsar's head on it, and tried giving that to me as my early access code.. when I pointed this out to them they told me to call the customer support instead, and that is where I got my code from (via email). This is correct - when you preordered a physical copy of ARR in Australia prior to launch the store gave you a bonus voucher which seemed to be printed specifically for Australia (it had a Australian Classification Board 'check classification' icon in the corner).

Much of the same in Adelaide. EB staff either know nothing of the game at all, or know it's coming but have no info (still happy to take our money though lol). JBHIFI had no idea about the game at all, and nothing on their system. I'll probably pull my preorder from EB and go with MightyApe, at least they know about the game and the customer service staff that I've chatted with know about the CE issues (they've even quoted this thread to me which was surprising).
Ultimately, I don't even NEED a preorder code, I just want to make sure I get the CE to go with my 1.0 CE...
I didn't choose the PUG life... The PUG life chose me...
went into my eb games again today they have something in there system for 90 aud but he said there was nothing in the system about a ce version guess ill try next week
my partner being manager of eb games gave me 1 of the extras she had for ARR werent gonna be used so i got a freebie.. asked her the other day about the codes n she said none as of yet but generally will be released closer to release date if anything like other games with same type of things
Lol you probably spoke with me then :P Yeah I'm pretty actively keeping an eye on this thread, just in-case.Much of the same in Adelaide. It's pretty frustrating sitting here from both a customer and retailer point of view with no sure updates on when/if it's gonna happen. Just let me pre-order my precious dragon figurine already t;A;t
