Heavensward CE preorders not being released in AUS???

Well... if production of all versions are done by the same people( im still guessing in japan/china), it would just make more sense to convert the US price considering the similarity in geograpgic proximity. I doubt european v na versions would effect pricing

The EU edition is more expensive than the NA. The NA codes do not work for Oceanic players. Perhaps it shouldn't affect pricing but for some reason EU players are being charged more regardless.

Edit: Assuming the physical products are made in China or Japan it's doubtful they ship directly to the Oceanic area. AUS/NZ distributors may need to import the game from a distributor in Europe, which I think is what EB games has to do. I'm no expert on the economy there for gaming but I am under the impression essentially all games are imported with no direct sales. Does SE set the prices for Oceanic sales of the game? I saw listed retail prices for the JP/NA/EU versions but no pricing statement from SE on Oceanic sales. I thought they were all imported and pricing set by the retailer.

I am not paying an extra $230 for a few boxes, a 5 inch statue, tiny art book and a CD ^^;;;;

I got the PS4 CE right at 12:00PM AEST. They must have had only a handful for it to be sold out so fast... gees!

I almost talked myself out of spending that much, but my girlfriend knows how much I love Final Fantasy and convinced me to just do it. <3

I feel sorry for all the people who bought a physical copy CE - you paid an extra 230 dollars for a book youll probably look at once, a disc you may or may not even watch - if so probably once, and a figurine. You essentially paid 230 dollars for a small figurine. Highway robbery and theyll continue to set these ridiculous prices in the future because people still rush in and sell out in 20min.

I got my copy for PC!
Secured right after 12pm AEST, so glad I didn't have any payment errors like so many people seemed to. I would've been bummed out it taking the money from my account anyway then probably not having enough to secure a copy.

Value is in the eye of the beholder if I at least get to look at the dragon and the diorama box on my shelves over the next two years then it's definitely worth my money.

I feel dirty, but I ended up ordering it. I got the 1.0 and ARR CE and I wasn't about to let the fact that I live in a backward country - in terms of IT industry - let me miss out on CE for HW.

I feel dirty because I am basically telling EB that it is ok to price gouge. I am telling them that people will pay anything for games. I feel dirty because I have let down the team. Those of you that wanted to make a stand and boycott it. The fact that it sold out so quickly pains me because it means there were probably a lot of ppl in my situation and that EB will continue to do it.

I wish there were laws in Australia that protected consumers from this sort of stuff, specifically protect us against the "Australia Tax". I thought there was a commission of audit that was going to look into that very thing, but I guess nothing ever came from it. Here are some excerpts I found on it:

So basically, they seem to agree that there is no justification for the price hiking, but no action is to be done about it. So basically it is all just a faff.
