No, MX. It sounds to me like the OP made a mistake (with good intent), owned up to it and apologized, but people used that as a polarizing point to rage and hate on, apparently even crossing the line into clear and undisputable verbal abuse.

To the OP: I'm sorry that happened to you. I am however happy that you both realized your mistake and owned up to it. Not many would do that. As for the people raging, people will find something no doubt. If not a big mistake, they'll target a little one. How can you mitigate that? Play your part as well as you can, then, once you've got that locked down, don't be afraid to step up or step outside of your role if it's in the best needs of the party/alliance. The rest is all just white noise.

You....do realize it only takes one tank to hold all the Kedtraps right? By the time the DPS are out that number there's usually only 2 left anyways. What does it matter if a tank grabs the chains while there's literally nothing left to tank? This may come as a shock to you (I know it certainly shocked me), but not everyone knows every nuance of every fight right off the bat.

I will admit my post kind of went in 2 different directions so more specifically -
1)People get saltier than the sea in this dungeon. It is both hilarious and sad.
2)Some guys yelled at me and I didn't like it, but I'm still shaking from the overwhelming nerdgasm I got when I put up with constant harassment then got my drop and told them "oooooh look. The tank who wiped you 5 times got his drop on the second run this week. mmmmmmmmm...so good!" and their subsequent salty responses (plus one filed a harassment report against me lel).

And what i described is not "trolling." Trolling is Running WoD naked, telling your healers you could clear the dungeon without them (then arguing about it), or starting a religious/political conversation. Trolling has a certain...subtle magic to it. Spewing venom at alliance members for one mistake (which they admitted to beforehand) is just being an ass.

The effects of throwing 24 people together without a set plan...

I wonder if ever, that the NA data centers will come up with the systematic methods of the JP data centers...
Alliance B is the MT, the trend started since first CT, and A/C will handle the mechanics/adds depending on which fight with each alliance doing a specific job each fight.
It may be 'boring' for each alliance to do the same job every single run but at least there are barely any wipes.

2/3rds of the time. Someone will go "Remember your ABC's" and that corresponds with "Adds, Belly, Chains" during the Cerberus fight.

    This.

People make mistakes, understandable, recognizable. We all 'kupo' up every once in a while.
Own up to your mistake and apologize for it. Learn from your mistake and do it better the next time around.

Verbally abusing someone for making a mistake is just bad form and reflects on them, not the person making a mistake.
I rather kick the abuser from the group than a person whom made an honest mistake.

Problem is, when people make mistakes, it's often immediately interpreted as trolling by certain people and thus the "World of Darkness" turns into "World of Salt"

    Lab of Salt:
The other day I was in a Lab raid, and we wiped SEVERAL times on Atmos due to people running in too far before people were ready, one of the squads kept wiping due to bad add placement, so I hit Vote Abandon.

You would have thought I had just lit fire to everyone's homes, killed their families, and then crashed the funeral with scathing comments about how their parents were child molesters. I'm fairly certain that if the vote initiation had not be anonymous, people would have done their best to doxx me and try and ruin my life. As it stood, everyone wanted to make sure that the "gay black man parade" (you know what they really said) should just leave the raid and promptly kill myself.

The salt is strong in the Tower.

I like this. I have been playing since launch, and I recall how Qarn at the proper level was a hurdle, and how there was no rage in pugs, everyone wanted to clear it, so ppl were patient and helpful. Sad that 1 1/2 years later, we've as a community have lost that co-op mutual respect attitude or whatever.

Truth to be told, the helpful / reasonable sorts are still around and about, and you can find people willing to share the same goals. Just had two very nice runs with folks running low-level dungeons while a friend and I were helping out a third, who's starting to learn the ins and outs of playing PLD - a very good time all in all. And I've run into the same kind of people elsewhere, be it instances, the Tower or dungeons.

Unfortunately, even a few bad apples spread across so many servers (I'm on Excalibur) tend to spoil the whole lot of good that is out there. So, while I'm more optimistic - since I think FFXIV still has a better playerbase than most, in that respect - I understand how player relations can turn to a low ebb, especially when you factor in lack of trust (i.e., assuming that a mistake equals trolling or not giving others the benefit of doubt).

Not worth risking a wipe IMO, especially since it's very easy to wipe there if some fool doesn't connect the chain. Plus if the DPS is really good, the second the 2nd belly phase is done he dies. So you really should only have to touch the chains once.
