Maybe they're thin, elongated, flexible scales? Not real fur, but simulations of it. Very similar, serve the same purpose. You know, nigh impossible to distinguish from one another.
Maybe they're feathers. They say feathers evolved from scales. Would probably be a lot more useful, especially if you inhabit cold climates. We know dragons are highly adaptable, this could be one of the means that they adapted to the new cold weather.
Fur also evolved from scales.
I will name him fluffy, and he will be my BEST friend.![]()
...until I have to put him down for biting the neighbors kid.![]()
R.I.P. Fluffy.
EDIT: Real Talk -
You're pretty close, I'd say. Even the order in which most events happen seems probable.
However, I think it'll start a bit different than you describe. At the end of 2.3 we see Elidibus behind the throne, presumably gettin' all up in Archy B's ear. Elidibus wants the WoL to become stronger and, having expended Icehearts primal value against us, makes one final use of her. Being inside the See, Elidibus is privy to certain details and from there, he delegates to have the heretic leader deactivate the magick barrier protecting Ishgard.
Aymeric is already working to establish relations between Ishgard and the scions, an attack or lack of protection won't cause it's hastening. No, I believe after the scions are framed for someone's demise and escape Ul'dah, the surviving members, finding even their position in Mor Dhona unsafe, will make for their friend in the north one by one.
The Dravanian attack, which will catch Ishgard completely Off-gard (see what I did there?), and the WoL's arrival will seem completely coincidental to both the city-state and the player. Of course, this happenstance will eventually prove to be Elidibus' sagacious scheming.

So, this has been somewhat bugging me since the end of 2.50 (got reminded of it today after rewatching stuff), who has Lou's staff (which I'm not even going to try to spell right now); Minfilia or the WoL? The cutscenes last show it in your possession, and Minfilia has Moen's device...but there was never really any "conclusion" as to where it wound up (at least, not that I saw)
Did we give it back to Minfilia for "safekeeping"? (though with the seal being broken, is anything really safe with her?)
Did we keep it keep it? (Because the seal is broken, we're probably the only one who can keep things more-or-less "safe" from the Ascians now. Maybe.)
Will we have to tune in next week for the exciting conclusion?
There are lot of posibilities but I think that we might had exagereting a little. It could be that part 2 will be nothing of what we are expecting. Lets just see and wait, only 1 week more :P
I don't know much about the current state of plot speculations, but isn't the logical next step in the story for the Crystal Braves, or at least the 1st and 3rd battalions, to go rogue and side with Adeledji?
Seemed to me that was in the cards all along for several reasons. Ilberd and Yuyuhase have clearly been scheming against the others from the start.
The Crystal Braves don't really have any point to being in the plot if they don't go bad. I'm hoping Alphinaud does too actually. The kid is way too obnoxiously flawless, and with his cynical worldview I could see him turning the Crystal Braves on Ul'Dah in a misguided attempt at fixing their problems by force, which would play right into Adeledji's plans. Then Alphinaud would finally get taken down a few notches once he realizes he's ruined everything.
