"The 7 heavenly dragons will be key to the Ishgard quest. Nizbeck, Bahamut, Tiamat, and more. Bahamut's story will how he was summoned and captured will also be revealed."So apparently there is a Famitsu interview from Pax East that confirms Bahamut as one of the seven children of Midgardsomr.

Sounds to me like they'll be addressing Bahamut in the new quest.
Just read through that interview in its native Nihongo. He says that the story of how Bahamut was summoned and captured by the ancient Allagan Empire will be explained in a side story.
Call me crazy, but if Cid's moving to Ishgard, that probably necessitates dragging CT into canon to prevent him from being in two places at once (ha, let me dream), and Yoshi may have just hinted at the story behind our next 24-man raid. Sounds like there's a Meracydian Temple of Bahamut in our future.
Interesting. So, it seems to me that we wont actually be confronting Bahamut again, just getting some backstory on him and his 6 brothers. Though I imagain we'll be fighting at least one...
6 siblings, not brothers. Tiamat is female, and Midgardsormr said that he sired 7 children, not 7 sons iirc.
For what it's worth, "Nizbek" is a mistranslation. The final version of the translation can be found here: http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/125...29-Translation
Yoshida confirms that 3 out of the 7 Midgardbabbys are Nidhogg, Tiamat, and Bahamut. He refers to the origins of Bahamut and his summoning as part of a "side story quest". Let's hope the Delivery Moogle takes us to Meracydia!
I'm not sure if dragons have defined genders. People may call Midgardsormr "King of Kings" and "Father of Dragons," but as far as we know he doesn't have a queen, and he may have birthed his seven children on his own. In other words, I think dragons may be hermaphroditic. That is, unless the sin the Ishgardians committed was the slaying of his queen, the mother of Nidhogg and the other six children, which would totally make sense that they call for retribution.
The dragon story is almost certainly going to predate the Ishgardians. After all we have the Allag as well. Hell, we may even discover one of the civilisations from the other eras and how some of the other Umbral eras were triggered. I wouldn't be surprised if Mrs Midgardsormr died long before even the Allag rose to prominence. Midgardsormr strikes me as a rather cynical individual.
could have sworn that the fall of meracydia as explained in the binding coil.Just read through that interview in its native Nihongo. He says that the story of how Bahamut was summoned and captured by the ancient Allagan Empire will be explained in a side story.
he seemed straightforward to me...for a character of his archetype. but then again my language is set to jp.
Or how they managed to get a distinctly angry primal and a fair amount of his followers into the artificial satellite. I'm gonna go with it was a trap, because that makes a decent amount of sense.
