Pro tip: Tell me you're new to a dungeon /rant

Another problem I have seen in dungeons is this.
Player 1: it's my first time
Player ?: player has left the party
So while yes it's nice to know it is also something some are afraid to announce because of that behavior. That group it was the tank that was new and decent gear and pulls and we ended up with 3 different DPS leaving because he said he was new. I finally told him to stop saying it lol. On another note don't assume it's a speed run if you are doing total randoms in DF, as others have said do your due diligence and check their gear if you are unsure.

Honestly, it's better that someone who doesn't have the patience to do a run with a new player (which may mean dealing with a few wipes) leave than stay and be nasty and grouchy to the newbie the entire time if wipes do happen. If they'd rather eat that 30-minute penalty, that's their choice.

Conversely, in respect to your quoting of someone who instead of vote kicking stated they would like to help the party along, you went off on a tangent about how you would vote kick them for being rude.

I think rude is quite the subjective term. I feel you are coming across as fairly rude in your replies. And you're a bit of a buzzkill.
I don't vota dismiss from dungeons, but I wouldn't hesitate to get rid of you in a heartbeat. As you said quite well, nasty people are never welcome.

Or they could just be on, you know... a PS4 and not having a real keyboard attached and don't feel like bothering trying to use the crappy on screen keyboard as you start running your speedrun because they were on the middle of typing and had to run and catch up with you...

When I originally made my post I had NO idea that typing "yes I'm new, please go easy" was so difficult. I mean, I do it ALL the time when I try something for the first time, and guess what? I get HELP from the vets! Go figure?

The only criteria I use for a speed run is an agreement between tank and healer. Dps being new is irrelevant because your ability to kill things using aoe is the same at lvl.1 as it is at ilvl.130 so newness to the fight doesn't matter. Tanks and healers however have to be willing to agree that a) the tank can survive large pulls and b) the healer is skilled enough to keep the tank up

Very much disagree. A ninja doesn't gain AOE until they get 2 Mudras. Then they don't gain decent AOE until they death blossom wich isn't a full power for a number of levels, then they only become GOOD once they get 3 mudra and can drop Doton.

No, I am not psychic. No, I don't assume that because you're poorly geared that you are new. No, the message at the beginning does not tell me that there are multiple new people.

Yes, you should have responded when I asked in the beginning who's new.

If you do not tell me you're new; expect a speed run and understand that I expect you to understand the dungeon.

Now, tell me that you're new and I will ALWAYS pull slowly and I'll make sure you don't get lost.

Pro tip, Don't whine on the forum when you're put the assumption that everyone want a speed run.
We have the ability to form our own team, if you're veteran of course you got your own static team, friends FC or can make PF. Unlike the new player they still not have all that because they are still new here.

They are doing DF just because of the quest mostly and alone without knowing anything, and even for second time I can guarantee they not really understand the whole dungeon yet. Patience is a Virtue.

But the question is, is it sarcasm? Sarcasm isn't easily expressed through text. Maybe you're the one misinterpreting things? I doubt that the OP would contradict himself.

Is it really hard to admit, "Damn, I messed up. I should've tried talking more to make sure we'd all have the best experience." ?

The point isn't that all speedruns are bad, all tanks are bad, all newbies must say they're new. The point is that a little more communication would have been much better in the long run and that assumptions shouldn't be made. From both sides yes.

ugh, this is such a dumb argument. Massive Multiplayer games require communication. You can use the soft keyboard, or just use emotes. It is not challenging. I wish people would stop coming up with excuses for gamepad players.

I am a gamepad player. I do not type with a keyboard. If I give people strategies, I either use PSN parties / voice chat, or get onto a VOIP client.
