Who is this "Lord of Snakes"?

So, the "Heart of Sabik", used to empower Ultima Weapon, was taken from Elidibus who was, when mortal, The Lord of Snakes, killed and eaten by Garuda... My head hurts, I forgot my hat.

Very interesting. Though, realistically, it's probably all allusion. I wonder what other connections will be made with the Ascians and Zodiacs. ...wait, what if... No...

"What if the Ascians are connected to another group of Twelve things?" If that's the question, that does come and go.

The legends say the Twelve left at the beginning of the age of man and the Ascians act as though a rift separates our peoples - that the world has lost its true form. Sometimes I get caught up in that paranoia, too. Sometimes I also get caught up in the possibility of Eorzean atheism. But, for some reason, I just can't get go of a little faith. The Twelve were always such a big part of the promotional materials, and the Moogles once claimed that the Elementals told them that the Gridanian Warrior of Light was a messenger of Nophica's intent. Something just feels wrong about Hydaelyn whispering in our ear about Darkness and Evil in reference to the same entities (unless their corruption is the whole point).
