You do realize the item description is used to describe how the sharks are used for foodstuffs *in Eorzea* right? Like, it's a lore thing. And before you try to justify it with that ridiculous notion that "it's not used in any other recipe in game!" It doesn't matter. There's tons of foods in game that Culinarians don't yet know how to make. And on top of that, it's a game. It has nothing to do with any sort of agenda.I used the "it's just a game" rationale until I read the description. Plenty of other games have Shark Fin Soup. But the quote I mentioned above did not sit with me right. It is a completely unnecessary fabrication. It makes you wonder why it is in the description at all. It is also a lie used IRL to justify this shameful practice. If SE is going to use a game for political agenda then I'm going to speak up.
It has NOTHING to do with the real world, so please calm down over this because it's unimportant.
I’m offended that no one cares about the poor Dodos~

Yeah...way to extract the fun from something...besides are there not already food items in the game that sound perilously close to something that would, in the past, have used Miq'ote flesh?
Did you not read my post that pointed out that the barbaric practice of harvesting ear lobes was ended thousands of years ago, and the horribly misnamed dish now uses smoked Perch instead?
An extinct bird from this world that lives on in Eorzea? I hear their eggs are delicious.

Let's night forget night milk: we have to kill the mobs for their milk.
Then there's the whole issue of leatherworking
I was commenting on the statement that plants have feelings, which is just more of a guess from mechanics seen by science (a response to negative seeming environments does not automatically equate to the feeling of pain, like our man made constructions can self respond to unwanted results but do not feel pain). So far I have not really cared about animal hunting in games (I suppose an incredibly disturbing game might exist, so excluding that :P ), but really- we kill people in games . . kind of too late to mind the snurbles lol.

Sorry if the wink at the bottom of the post wasn't enough of a flat-out confession of a joke to you. Maybe lighten up? Yeah, that's probably a good idea.

I was being sarcastic. Your post chained off a post to remove a bunch of stuff, you added plants, so I extrapolated it to ridiculous lengths.I was commenting on the statement that plants have feelings, which is just more of a guess from mechanics seen by science (a response to negative seeming environments does not equate to the feeling of pain, like our man made constructions can self respond to unwanted results but do not feel pain).
