I'd be interested to know what the original Japanese text is for this item, since the English localization team often takes some pretty big liberties with how they translate the text. It woudn't surprise me to learn that they'd added that entire line specifically to put English-speaking audiences at ease, knowing what a sensitive topic shark finning is in the West. An attempt to put at ease, which wound up having the opposite effect in your case!

Not to be that guy but shark fins aren't the only things used the teeth can be used for jewelry.

Also shark skin has been used for a number of things from sand paper to Japanese armor its used in the hands so the samurai wouldn't lose their grip on their katana.

So OP needs to get their facts together. I'm not for killing of sharks but if theres laws and regulations in place and everything on the body is used.

But whaleing is bad no excuse for it. But I still hope we get to harpoon Bismarck.

OP never claimed that the whole shark carcass COULDN'T be used, but rather that it WASN'T used. Even worse, the finners don't even bother to humanely kill the shark after harvesting the fin - they just drop the thing back in the water. A shark can't survive without its fin, so the animal is doomed to a painful and fairly slow death.

Other parts of the shark can be used, but finners don't bother. The fin is valuable and takes next to no time to harvest and very little space to store, whereas the teeth, skin, and other parts take time and effort. A ship that returns with a hold full of shark fins makes MUCH more money than one that returns with a hold full of whole dead sharks. This is why finners harvest in the way that they do: it's more lucrative and efficient. It's also pretty darned horrible, if you care at all about animal rights.

Sadly the very professional someone seeks for help with the definitions of fiction vs. reality in this day and age will probably also teach that the very subject the OP is talking about actually promoted what he says it does.

This paradox of information is thrusted upon young minds as the educated "new" thinking, and involves all sorts of topics, including video games, I raised four children who are now all 26-30 years old, I have seen this practiced in "learning institutions".

Most "teachers" in these schools need "professional" help they wont get because this is working as intended, worse many of them "know" the distinctions between the two and teach falsely anyway.

Once you have thoroughly confused everyone about what fiction vs. reality really is, you can then send them up the line to the "professional" and take a kickback, conspiracy doesn't have anything to do with it, it happens every day.

"Professionals" are always coming up with some new mental illness that is suddenly an epidemic because, well, job security, never mind what it does to peoples lives and reputations in the long run.

The most lucrative way to make money in this world is off of the misery of others.

It appears to me that you are implying that there is a political purpose to the color text on a craft item in this game, that the color text has nothing to do with the item or game and that further more, there is an agenda somehow supporting the killing of sharks for their fins. You're also implying a financial interest for SE in the proceeds from the harvesting and sale of shark fins. The shameful thing here is your irresponsible conduct. I believe that you're trolling, and that in fact you are damaging the 'cause' of stopping the abuse and slaughter of sharks as well as directly impuning SE's conduct. Frankly, I can't understand why you're still posting here, either way, I'm convinced you're trolling.
