Having outfits be gender locked when there's no real reason to (i.e. nothing about the outfits that particularly relates to one gender over another) is, on its own, mildly annoying. They did this with the Lightning Strikes event, where one clearly unisex outfit was given only to female characters and a completely different (but also clearly unisex) outfit was given only to male characters. But at least that time there was some equality in the type and relevance of the two outfits.

This new example, however, between an elaborate and highly detailed reproduction of an iconic character's outfit for half the population and a generic sexy bunny for the other half, goes beyond mildly annoying to downright insulting. We should be getting either both outfits for both genders, or at least equivalent ones. Provide both a detailed and classy reproduction of a previous character's outfit to both genders, and provide a skimpy sexy outfit to both genders.

I used to be so happy with how well SE was providing gender equality in their designs. Both genders get some skimpy sexy outfits. Both genders get some elegant clothes. Both genders get some badass fully armoured styles. That they're now moving away from that towards the "males are real characters and females just eye candy" stereotype is really disappointing.
