I think it's not the same. As DoW/ DoM you can only fight on your own no matter how many classes you've leveled so far.
As DoH you can repair everything by just switching classes. I don't like this self sufficient attitude in MMOs, to be honest.

Soloability with certain elements is one thing (or not being required to find like 15 diff. people just to complete a single quest), but capping on crafts would finally socialise the game (even more) because you'd actually have to talk to people.

What's wrong with walking to a DoH and ask for a repair? If you're in a hurry you can still use the repair NPC anyway. And we also have the Market Wards.

Though, I do understand that for a DoH/L only player this would be kind of annoying (since these are supposed to be real classes). Maybe there's another solution? Something like making it quite hard to reach something above rank XX? As long as it keeps people socialising I'm all for it.

Here is hoping that the PS3 release will balance things.

    I'm with this guy

I also feel I should add, as a crafter myself, that maxing out a craft does not take all the heart and dedication that some people seem to believe. Maxing crafts now really just requires having a lot of free time and a netflix watch instantly account. I don't think that should be rewarded in the future. They also just eliminated the one system in place to help bridge the gap between hardcore/casual. Combining that with the new local leve rewards, a limit of some sort is needed sooner or later.

My ideal system; eliminate high end local leves. Just give me r50+ crafts that are so expensive and difficult I wouldn't dream of grinding them on a whim, or vending everything I made. If someone masters three crafts in this system then it is because he really knows the market and he knows his crafts. And I wouldn't mind competing with this very select few for market sales and the such. But if I can't have that system, a stone limit set in place to get people to choose a mastery, well that is totally acceptable.

I would have no problem dropping two or three of my crafts at a certain point, and choosing to be a skilled master at ARM. I know plenty of people that like tanning or weaving etc as much as I like smashing on metals. It is nice to rely on people in an MMO

There is actually more similarity here then you see. People are already starting the practice of swapping DoW/DoM classes mid-dungeon run. Allowing mastery (whatever it means) of only one DoM or DoW class would help alleviate that "problem" (I recognized not all see it as a problem).
