The Hunt Public Shaming Needs to end

Waiting an extra 60 seconds ≠ waiting for the entire server. Stop exaggerating.

I actually waited for the mob to go kill 3 or so hunts before arriving at mine, a big crowd forms, I pull, get called an early puller. See here's the thing: "early pulling" is so vauge, so abstract, so intangible, that it's easily applied to most situations. How much is enough time? How much is enough people? It's not defined and will never be.

As for your whole "stop exaggerating bit", okay, let me rephrase so that my message is still the same but with less flowery language: "I don't want to wait until there are so many people that it would actually be impossible for me to actually count them because both they and, most importantly, the monster that I'm trying to build enough enmity fighting, disappear from view. Naturally, this leads to the now untargetable monster that will die within seconds after being engaged, to be rather difficult to hit and actually build enmity against with a normal party composition" -- There you go.

Oh and I could say learn to play too, so let me try that too: get there faster next time. Should rectify the problem.

1. The monster is still there. You have a tab key for a reason.

2. "Getting there faster" has nothing to do with "learning to play".

When you first see the message come across your LSs (I have 7 hunt LSs), you teleport and you go (if teleporting is necessary). Then you mount and run to the location, ASAP.

That's all you CAN do. There's no minigame to play that gives your chocobo speed boosts on the way there. If you're lucky, a group of players using Guildworks won't have gotten there long before your LSs have reported the mob and pulled.

Generating more aggro, however, certainly does involve learning to play better, and again, I have a hard time believing the hunts on your low pop are anywhere NEAR the zergfests on Hyperion...

Since teleporting to and finding the hunt is part of playing the game, yes you have to learn to play the hunt. It is a hunt after all. I suppose you want everyone else to do the hunting part, that is going out and looking for the beast, for you though.

You can't tab to something that hasn't appeared. It is completely, and utterly, unable to be targeted. You can have great fun spamming AoEs in the dark though. I guess you never experienced this. Lucky you.

Well, you don't have to believe me if you don't want to; it's not a big deal either way. I don't really have a reason to lie about all this, but it really makes no difference if you believed it. I highly doubt you would change your ways and do a complete heel-turn, especially when there's seals and logs to be had.

Early pulling is real, but it's not against the rules.

It's kind of like being a loot whore. I'm sure we all agree that loot whoring is real, and lots of people don't like loot whores. But loot whoring isn't forbidden nor addressed by the ToS. If you can need or greed it, then according to the ToS, you have just as much right to gear as anyone else. Doesn't change the fact there is such a thing as loot whoring, though.

Which I just explained the BEST way to do (woohoo, minmaxing!!!) and it's neither deep or challenging.

If you're out looking for the hunt mob and it spawns on the other end of the zone, you'll still miss out through 0 fault of your own.

I'm really NOT trying to be a bastard about this, but I've just NEVER had an issue with getting full credit, even in a gigantic zerg of players...

It's neither deep nor challenging, so you should be able to make it there in time. Or maybe you won't, it's all part of the game though.

Nor is it against the rules to blacklist the early pulling trolls and drive their FC off the server. If you and your FC earns such a bad reputation, good luck to you. You made your bed, you sleep in it. Deal with it.

How can you be so ignorant or perhaps naive? Do you even know what the word harassment means? What gets me however is how hypocritical you are, when comes to dungeons, raids and other instances where there is evidence of mob rule harassment such as speed runs, vote kick abuse based on majorities forcing minorities to conform to non-GM and non-SE stated rules/guidelines in for example DF parties aka just some player/group decided rules...you whine about such occurrences yet here you are actively and forcefully trying to justify mob rule harassment with hunts.

I'll state this as clearly as possible : People who expect everyone else to wait for THEM and then complain when someone doesn't are way more selfish than someone who pulls before the whole server is there. You people are the ones expecting the whole world to stop for you, and when it doesn't you whine and harass everyone in earshot. Also, early pulling is not against the ToS, but persistant and focused harassment like say spreading a bad reputation and trying to drive a whole group of people off your server however, is.

In summation : Grow up and stop expecting everyone else to cater to you. You are not the center of the universe and you are not special.

Totally agree. It's worth pointing out, though, that people like this make up a very small portion of players, just as the regular early pullers do.

I'm pretty sure most people are like me. We wait for others, and we hope others will do the same, but if we miss a mark then it's just on to the next one.
