It's great that waiting the entire server to arrive works for you
Waiting an extra 60 seconds ≠ waiting for the entire server. Stop exaggerating.

Why should I do that when it works against me?
    Because

    A) This problem could be rectified by learning to play

    and

    B) Being labeled as an early puller will work even further against you, as it should.

I actually waited for the mob to go kill 3 or so hunts before arriving at mine, a big crowd forms, I pull, get called an early puller. See here's the thing: "early pulling" is so vauge, so abstract, so intangible, that it's easily applied to most situations. How much is enough time? How much is enough people? It's not defined and will never be.

As for your whole "stop exaggerating bit", okay, let me rephrase so that my message is still the same but with less flowery language: "I don't want to wait until there are so many people that it would actually be impossible for me to actually count them because both they and, most importantly, the monster that I'm trying to build enough enmity fighting, disappear from view. Naturally, this leads to the now untargetable monster that will die within seconds after being engaged, to be rather difficult to hit and actually build enmity against with a normal party composition" -- There you go.

Oh and I could say learn to play too, so let me try that too: get there faster next time. Should rectify the problem.

    1. The monster is still there. You have a tab key for a reason.

    2. "Getting there faster" has nothing to do with "learning to play".

When you first see the message come across your LSs (I have 7 hunt LSs), you teleport and you go (if teleporting is necessary). Then you mount and run to the location, ASAP.

That's all you CAN do. There's no minigame to play that gives your chocobo speed boosts on the way there. If you're lucky, a group of players using Guildworks won't have gotten there long before your LSs have reported the mob and pulled.

Generating more aggro, however, certainly does involve learning to play better, and again, I have a hard time believing the hunts on your low pop are anywhere NEAR the zergfests on Hyperion...

Since teleporting to and finding the hunt is part of playing the game, yes you have to learn to play the hunt. It is a hunt after all. I suppose you want everyone else to do the hunting part, that is going out and looking for the beast, for you though.

You can't tab to something that hasn't appeared. It is completely, and utterly, unable to be targeted. You can have great fun spamming AoEs in the dark though. I guess you never experienced this. Lucky you.

Well, you don't have to believe me if you don't want to; it's not a big deal either way. I don't really have a reason to lie about all this, but it really makes no difference if you believed it. I highly doubt you would change your ways and do a complete heel-turn, especially when there's seals and logs to be had.

Which I just explained the BEST way to do (woohoo, minmaxing!!!) and it's neither deep or challenging.

If you're out looking for the hunt mob and it spawns on the other end of the zone, you'll still miss out through 0 fault of your own.

    What are you playing on?

I'm really NOT trying to be a bastard about this, but I've just NEVER had an issue with getting full credit, even in a gigantic zerg of players...

Maybe that's the power of the SMN?

It's neither deep nor challenging, so you should be able to make it there in time. Or maybe you won't, it's all part of the game though.

Oh and I'm playing on ancient technology.

60 seconds from when? When YOU get there? How about you wait 60 seconds from when I get there ... and I just entered Coil, so give me an hour and a half + my 60 seconds.

Ah, but there's a mechanic in place that won't let you have two of a unique item.
There is not a mechanic that prevents me from seeing what the drop is, that I already have it, dropping the one I have and then Needing. While this could be a form of grief, maybe I need it because the one I have is damaged and I don't want to spend the gil for repairs. Makes it legit in my mind. See, perspective!

I completely agree. Hunts should've never been made the sole source of progress. Scaling HP would fix this, but it would be nice to see a better fix than that.

From when it gets discovered and announced over the LS network.

The problem is that we have a bunch of lazy asses sitting on the aetherite, waiting for someone ELSE to find the mob. As soon as that happens, they go out and pull immediately, thus screwing over everyone who was ACTUALLY looking for a hunt mob in that or another zone.

Excuse me but this statement assumes I belong to one of YOUR sanctioned "hunt LS".

So since I have not signed the contract and paid my dues for the honor of joining your sanctioned network then that means I get a pass on the 60 second early pull bullsh*t? If I am bound by some agreement that I did not agree to in order to earn the right to hunt (as it seems you have claimed them as yours) YOUR hunt mobs, then you are bound by agreement to wait for me to get out of the shower and arrive at the location. Then you can pull.

That is the same attitude tobacco companies, polluting companies, or the neighborhood trouble maker takes. Guess what that does work very well in real life and likewise in game, especially one that needs the cooperation of other players. Go ahead and get yourself blacklisted and see how far you can get, and it make no sense given that the hunt LS share hunt information and help everyone get to the hunt mark and let everyone participating get the reward.
