You get no extra rewards for being the one to claim the Hunt Mark, no less reward for allowing more people to show up. It's not like in XI where once you claimed the mob nobody else could touch it so you had to claim as soon as it spawned or risk losing your chance at the drops.
All the complaints about the hunt dying in 30 secs works against your arguments though. To be quite honest, waiting for more people to show up IS risking getting less reward since it will die before your party can build enough credit. Actually you do if theres so many people that damage (well enmity you can generate in actuality) is below the threshold you can end up getting less than the gold reward. Especially now with how they die so quickly with the lvl of gear many have.
If that's happening reconsider how you play your job, because honestly this shouldn't be an issue in a party over 5 people.
That doesn't even make sense.
If there are too many people around I get superlag and my character don't even use animations when casting spells. Also as a summoner I don't even know if my dots are up or not, I randomly use fester to see how much damage is done, and before I can put up the dots I think is missing the hunt is dead.
If I do it as blm my cast bar will continue forever and never cast the spell
If I do it was white mage and spam medica my team mates dont even get the heals cause I can't see them even if they are right next to me on the minimap
Explain to me how lag and how well you play your job is related?
Naah if I find a hunt I pull it as soon as I see we are around 15-20 people because I don't wanna risk losing reward cause I was nice and waited for half the server

Or maybe people should reconsider what class they hunt on. The way it is now, DPS classes are just about useless in hunt parties. They generate the most damage and the least amount of aggro, so the mob dies faster and they get less credit for it overall. I've actually seen hunt parties specifying tank/whm only (yeah no love even for sch).
If I find a hunt mob, nothing says I have to wait till the 500 man zergmurderfest gets to me to start. I'm sorry, but my play experience doesn't go at the speed of PS3. If you don't like the long load times, then upgrade.But then by that logic i can turn around and say that Pulling early is griefing other players, as it is making one aspect of the game not enjoyable and unplayable for them. Not everyone has fibre optic broadband and SSDs(even then i load faster then people with them)
When a hunt is called the area gets laggy, and loads take time..Also most people seem to have a habit of calling it out then pulling so its either dead or half dead when you get there.

I'm wondering about this whole enmity thing, because back when I first hit 50 on my war, I would still get full credit just from 1 heavy swing and 1 combo'd skull sunder, and that was back when I had like i56 and defiance offOr maybe people should reconsider what class they hunt on.
