Yumi's kinda known for it.
That said though? With two actually geared i105 healers, we had an absolute hell of a time keeping up with the damage in that fight. Sometimes it's fine - and then Einherjar -> Gungnir -> Hall of Stone -> Tank Buster and it's like "welp, gg guys" because you were so busy keeping the party off of death's doorstop while trying not to get petrified that the tank has suddenly exploded. Odin's randomized patterns might be super simple, but the damage going out can be absolutely massive when he wants.
I mean I enjoy it but holy hell.

there was a famous thread where Yumi got bashed for that in 2.1's early days iirc ^^ Talking about running T1/T2 and Pharos sirius (back when people were complaining it was too hard). It has become some sort of running gag now, just like some other famous figures on the forums
Intensive fights are good ^^
One can only hope they won't become total faceroll when people get used to mechanics though

There are 0 mechanics to Odin. Maybe one. The closest thing to a mechanic in the fight is that there's a set of adds you have to drop away from each other and then kill ASAP to deal with the bleed damage debuff they put on everyone. That and the damage race at the end.
That's it. The rest is all clearly visible AoEs or attacks you can't do anything about - just used in a random pattern (I think certain attacks can't be cast twice in a row, but certain ones definitely can). And everything in the fight - including the stuff you can't dodge - really, really hurts.
If you're i100-ish and actually know what you're doing in your job, you may be able to pull it off if everyone else in your group is similarly skilled. If you don't know your rotation, I'm sorry, you can be in i130 gear and you'll still be dead weight.Haven't tried the fight yet (trying later tonight) - but for party composition, what kind of ilvl do you all think is actually needed for the burn phase? I know many have said i95 is too low, but is the thinking that people need to build a party with mostly i115 dps or so (not sure if I'd take my 108 bard or 115 ninja, depending). Thanks for any input before I put together my group!!
After healing it a couple of times I think it's scripted like T9 or titan. Sangetail comes at certain points, there's always an Einherjar before the 2nd Gungir (so rude).
