    Odin and the dps check

I know its doable in df etc but i kinda wonder if the fight is a bit harder than the i95 implies as it'd be on par with shiva ex and the like.
The 2 tank method makes it a bit tougher i guess due to its strict dps check. Like i'm sure u all had that butt clenching moment when he started casting shin zantetsuken and everyone was like
    "Burnnnnnnnn"
    "Lbbbbbbb"
    "Gogogogoo"
Then to either just win with a sec to spare or to fail at 1% hp.
I know it'll be really easy after time passes but maybe they should make it a higher ilvl as its not even extreme mode.
Also y does se have to make it healer intensive lol, it's like the siren fight except ur fighting ads at the same time.

I basically do consider him Odin Extreme at this point (even though the Auto Translate is "Urth's Fount (Hard)"). Yes, mechanically he's super simple to learn - but from the couple groups I've been able to get together and attempt it with, he requires a lot more than i95 gear to meet the DPS/healer checks involved.

Though I bloody loved the fight but I think I'd rather heal second coil because Einherjar or the Slow AoE straight into his tank buster is terrifying.

I hope I speak for all healers when I say, BRING IT ON SE.

I love intensive healing fights, my god the adrenaline rush...SUCCOR, ALDO, PHYSICK SPAM, ON NO ITS CASTING SOMETHING VIRUS VIRUS VIRUS , POPS SACRED SOIL *INCOMING<-----P4 T12 lol ......I love fights like this lol.

As a healer I hate standing around and doing the casual. I love fights that require me to be much more and on top of my game and have a true knack for the job.... Also as a SCH I tend to make the fight more intensive as 9/10 I'm in cleric more than anything other than T13 lol .....

unless they changed the way they're playing, you're talking to someone who is playing with full tanking jewelry as a WHM. that may be the main reason they find it heal intensive

    Yumi's kinda known for it.

That said though? With two actually geared i105 healers, we had an absolute hell of a time keeping up with the damage in that fight. Sometimes it's fine - and then Einherjar -> Gungnir -> Hall of Stone -> Tank Buster and it's like "welp, gg guys" because you were so busy keeping the party off of death's doorstop while trying not to get petrified that the tank has suddenly exploded. Odin's randomized patterns might be super simple, but the damage going out can be absolutely massive when he wants.

I mean I enjoy it but holy hell.

there was a famous thread where Yumi got bashed for that in 2.1's early days iirc ^^ Talking about running T1/T2 and Pharos sirius (back when people were complaining it was too hard). It has become some sort of running gag now, just like some other famous figures on the forums

    Intensive fights are good ^^

One can only hope they won't become total faceroll when people get used to mechanics though

Haven't tried the fight yet (trying later tonight) - but for party composition, what kind of ilvl do you all think is actually needed for the burn phase? I know many have said i95 is too low, but is the thinking that people need to build a party with mostly i110 dps or so (not sure if I'd take my 108 bard or 115 ninja, depending). Thanks for any input before I put together my group!! I'm leaning towards ninja so I can put up the 10% TA dmg during burn phase.

There are 0 mechanics to Odin. Maybe one. The closest thing to a mechanic in the fight is that there's a set of adds you have to drop away from each other and then kill ASAP to deal with the bleed damage debuff they put on everyone. That and the damage race at the end.

That's it. The rest is all clearly visible AoEs or attacks you can't do anything about - just used in a random pattern (I think certain attacks can't be cast twice in a row, but certain ones definitely can). And everything in the fight - including the stuff you can't dodge - really, really hurts.

If you're i100-ish and actually know what you're doing in your job, you may be able to pull it off if everyone else in your group is similarly skilled. If you don't know your rotation, I'm sorry, you can be in i130 gear and you'll still be dead weight.

Nah i'm healing it fine and was taught to throw out some dps here and there but we always reach the end but the dps just doesn't seem enough. I thought this was suppose to be content for casuals and is not included in the endgame coil tier right?
Healing it is fine but when dps start to get hit by things then you know ur either going to have to decide between healing them or prepping the tank for that tank busting move. Forgot the name lol. When casual content requires healers to dps then you know we atleast deserve to be adressed with a more suitable ilvl req.
