While I don't disagree that this is a WTF story, you should consider investing in a cheap USB keyboard just to avoid situations like that on a console. Unfortunately, most players don't understand Scholar isn't a true healer role until 30+ and therefore don't have access to their real healing utility via job quests in the 30+ range (let alone that you don't get Leeches until level 40). Unfortunately, many players believe that someone "being silent" equates to "being bad and doesn't listen", which is a horrible generalization, but that's part of the community we have to deal with, sadly.
