It's easy enough to click off regen on PC, but on console it takes going through a few menus first, which is considerably more annoying if the healer keeps doing it. The tank may have decided to just leave regen on rather than deal with the hassle. Just to play devil's advocate for a moment.

By the flame-flickering hearthside in a decoratively colored room, the effeminate Lalafellin White Mage, Kiko Ten, was kicked back in his comfy leather chair in a warm bath robe, with a pair of fake reading glasses perched on his little nose, and a big, thick book a-rest upon his lap, titled Healing Horror Stories. With a toy pipe in his mouth, he blew bubbles into the air, and then he saw you.

"Hi!" he said, taking the toy pipe out of his mouth. "If this is your first visit, welcome! I have a healing horror story that might tickle your fancy. It'll only take a few seconds. Ready?

"I went to the Wolves' Den. The gates opened, and I charged into battle, my team leading the way. Suddenly, I was closed in on and the entire enemy team made violent love to me. I didn't get the chance to heal anybody. The end!"

Minor horror story, more amusing than anything-

I was a bit cold last night, so I decided to huddle under a blanket since I play with a controller anyway. Hopped on voice chat with my dps buddy and put my keyboard way out of reach. We rolled a high roulette and got into AK with a paladin and blackmage. The paladin was chatty and the blackmage didn't speak english.. things went smoothly enough though, with small pulls that were burned quickly.

We get to the demon wall and the paladin wants to down it as quick as possible. He had been timing the boss and was hopeful for us to break his previously observed record.. said not to worry about healing him and go full dps. As he's readying to charge, I notice the blackmage's hp is 0.. ask my friend if he disconnected.. then notice the hp is back and mp is 0. Yes, it seems the blackmage ran off the side while the tank was chatting..

Can't reach keyboard to stop tank, so I wtf a bit to my friend and just go for it. We kill the wall easily enough (sadly did not beat the record time ), blackmage catches up, and the rest of the dungeons goes fine. But really.. ran off the edge?! Oh well.

So this is the weirdest horror story ever. Level 50 Paladin in Toto-Rak with 120 gear. I am on my conjurer at the moment working on stoneskin for my scholar. Tank refused to use flash because and I quote "i don't want to waste my mana." What in the heck are you going to use it on?????? I don't know. It was kind of semi-awful and I already despise Toto-Rak as it is!

Not really a horror story, but more of a wtf story from an experience of me getting kicked from a dungeon.

One day, a lone lalafell working very hard on some taxing trials, queued into Brayflox's Longstop. The players with her weren't new and were in the same FC and much of the dungeon went smoothly...for the most part. During the battle with the first boss, the tank begins to speak to her, asking for Esuna. This left the girl puzzled for a moment, hoping the axe-weilding warrior wasn't really that much of a moron. She did not respond of course, figuring it was just an odd mistake. Perhaps they hadn't noticed the spells being cast on them or the weapon she was wearing? Or even the symbol appearing next to her name? Yes that had to be it. Nonetheless, the first trial was cleared and they moved on easily, making a record run to the second boss.

Here, the party's Ninja found themselves paralyzed. Once again, the lalafell couldn't do anything about it and kept the party healthy as normal. Well, at least she thought she was. Once this trial had ended, the tank and ninja began to complain and whine about the lack of "esuna"! Now she found herself annoyed, shaking her head once more and pointing to the small winged lady that had been following her through the entire dungeon (she would've spoken, but she can only do so much with a controller on a PS4).

It then became oddly quiet as they continued on, no one dying or running into tight spots because the lalafell was working hard to show her skill and prowess! However, that all suddenly ended when they reached the gates of the final boss. Her screen suddenly went black and out of nowhere she was back in Southern Thanalan! They had kicked her from the dungeon! Why would they do such a thing? There was nothing she could do about esuna! After all, they were in Brayflox's Longstop Story Mode, a level 31 dungeon that caps at 34 and she was not a White Mage.

Needless to say, the skilled Scholar instantly queued in again and cleared, thus completing her fifth Atma book for her third Zodiac potential weapon.

    The end!

I dont have any particular story about horrific DF party, tho I had those moment, or anything party-based but I a have nightmares about things in a nutshell.

My horror story (or more irritated):
When I'm playing as WHM and get paired with SCH in ST or anywhere else (actually, thats my dream team but somethimes..). SCH starts casting protect and stoneskin on everybody while I'm just waiting till everybody finish with cutscenes so I can buff everybody at once. I literally want to walk up to this SCH and wave like 'Hey, I'm here, my buffs are better and I'll cast them when the time comes'.
I dont mind occasional help from SCH when I'm derping and a rezzed ppl are running without protect and some heavy stuff strikes everyone.
When I'm playing as SCH most of the time I'm observing what other healer does and either go DPS/heal other ally/heal my party. Sometimes I'm left dumbfounded when a fellow SCH keeps spamming physick and not doing any DPS at all.

    The second story:
Every speedrun for me is an emotional crit. I havent seen it being done alot before new dungs and relic chain so to say I wasnt ready for speed runs is to say nothing. I am a very emotional when it comes to healing. So when I see a pack of mobs, rapidly lowering tank's HP I have a brainfreeze. At this moment I'm almost calm when this happens, but I still feel uneasy.

    The worst nightmare:
CT. Seriously. I've been spamming it for a week right now. But from 20~ runs I had only 1(!) that wasnt covered in bloodshed and rubbish thrown at other ppl when they fail at some point or they just aren't fast enought. IF THEY FAIL IS IT HARD TO HELP THEM INSTEAD? I'm trying my best to explain mechanics but at the same I dont expect new people to catch up immediately. Sometimes you just need to see it to understand the concept. CT is great to test people's teamwork. Either you work together or you wipe. ST is more forgiving at this matter.

While I don't disagree that this is a WTF story, you should consider investing in a cheap USB keyboard just to avoid situations like that on a console. Unfortunately, most players don't understand Scholar isn't a true healer role until 30+ and therefore don't have access to their real healing utility via job quests in the 30+ range (let alone that you don't get Leeches until level 40). Unfortunately, many players believe that someone "being silent" equates to "being bad and doesn't listen", which is a horrible generalization, but that's part of the community we have to deal with, sadly.

I would if I could but console version for me is only until my comp gets fixed which is soon. Even on PC though, I don't speak unless to apologize for a mistake or if I get insulted. Which reminds me, I got another one for the bunch:

Queued into WP for zodiac, however it was about 8am and I was in the mood for a relaxing run. Bard asks for speed run. Tank graciously says its up to me. Bard says "they have a nexus they don't mind". I stop running and struggle type with controller that I'm not awake enough for a full speed pull please half it. Then to bard I said "don't make choices for me based on my weapon". Long story short, tank pulls to half as I request (nice guy) but bard runs ahead to get the rest leaving tank to chase him. We can guess how the rest of the run went. By went i mean it didn't. I left. >.>

I hoped I'd never have to post in this thread, but ever since I decided to make WHM the first class I'll reach to cap, the DF community has decided to throw every poor grouping habit at me at once.

My short time as SCH was great. Pet to heal the lite wounds, me keepign up Galvanize b/c I have too much mp and already cast DoTs. No big pulls and if it were, wasn't bad. Did Brayflox like a champ.

The following 5 Guildhests were nightmares once I switched to WHM. NO ONE protected me as I'm being heal slave for a tank that pulls all the mobs in the room. I quickly learned and mastered swiftcast combos and presence of mind. Mana management is useless as it's pump tank until everything is dead. While I could say something to tank, everyone wants to rush (plus it's a guildhest and I needed to see this rush style as a healer). I died on the Maraboro heist and the one with the many elven archers in the woods. Tank refused to flash adds and dps were both blm. instead of sleeping adds, fire1 to boss only. of course we wipe...

I'm like "pffff... just a bad day. One more Brayflox. It will be different."

    DEAD.... WRONG!

2 noobies (tank and dps) and a THA that wasn't too good at his class which made things bad at the start. We barely could clear the beginning mobs. Tank had trash armor and was very new, so I cut her some slack. She at least listened to advice. I starting having to sleep adds but the dps (DRG) without fail would wake them and never attacked the mobs the tank was targeting (even when they were marked). THA dcs after we wipe on the first mini-boss. We get a BLM with experience. He's helping me teach these children. 7 wipes, and 17 rezs later I was so sick of the dps never listening to advice. I was running out of mana trying to keep him up and starting prioritizing the BLM since the dps loss was minimal with the skill gained by keeping a better player up. Tank was starting to get some flow but never could hold aggro nor pull hate from off me (the healer). I could waste swiftcast to cast repose on a mob that is chasing me only to heal someone and pull 2 more mobs (while the dps would wake the mob chasing me). Halfway through I told the DRG that I wasn't going to heal him when he wakes adds. I didn't have the mana to cover him and a lowbie tank. He doesn't heed my warning and dies on salamander miniboss (he never pops the bubbles. Even the tank did that much when we told them all the details before engagement.

Then the DRG gets an attitude and it's all over for me. Talks about how he could have done more if I kept him alive (this train of thought continues to the boss after wipe 1). The BLM is like "Man... this guy". I basically tell the DRG that this run is completely community service. I didn't need the xp, it was late, and he was either 1) not learning or 2) choosing to be dick. I couldn't kick him b/c I wasted my vote on the guy who dced (didn't know about that wait). DRG continues to mouth off and I continue to tell him he is the most unappreciative jerkface I've met. Too ungrateful. Tank actually did well on our first boss attempt. I ran out of mana as she didn't dodge enough AoE attacks and didn't have enough ethers to support her and then a dying group as everyone had some form of dmg (plus I was really unlucky with freecure).

DRG is the first to die (... idk know why either. I think he was standing in poison pools) and starts to complain that I didn't rez him (...with 147 mana and we were super close to killing the boss). 2nd attempt was a success but hardly better. DRG using LB before other 2nd gauge was even close to halfway (boss is at 80% life or more). I pretty much spammed ethers at the start. Admittedly I think I did better on the 2nd run. Got luckier with freecures, and used PoM to knock out status effects right after a freecure. Everyone was healthy (including the boss as the tank didn't position them too well).

Worst run of my life. Still like WHM... but man is SCH so much easier. I probably should have left the group the 2nd I found out the tank was new. But I was new not to long ago (but I'm a quick learner and have played all the classes at least up to 30). I'm nowhere near elite, but I'd hope by 30, you learned the basics of your class and group play. Guess I was wrong.

Got a comm, a battlemage tunic and a severe headache from that run. Will do it again though. Them instant queues rock too hard.
