My recent horror stories............... apparently, every time I SCH. -_-
Multi wipes in Qarn (NM) and a wipe in Bray (NM.... was only lvl 35/36 for them) - and bleeding for MP in both.

Qarn - I'd literally put in DF for Qarn, switched to SCH and bam, DF ready for me. In I go.... so fast that I'd forgotten to summon the faery - and so used to not having one that I didn't summon it till the start of the first pull ><.
Luckily, I realized this quickly at start and swiftcasted the summon.
Sigh.
First wipe was in the first boss, I was looking for my SC+Raise macro button.... which is on my WHM hotkey. I didn't have one set for my SCH. Went to raise a downed DPS and hadn't noticed, while I'm looking at my hotkeybar like "wtf where's my giant bright green '+' Raise macro button??", the boss casted Doom.... SCed, Resurrected the DPS and boom. Doom death. Party wipes. I hadn't been paying attention to the Doom.
Second wipe was the last boss - I couldn't keep up with the healing between peeps hit with the lasers and the boss' room AoE - I died and the party followed.
Third wipe, same boss... but the tank brought the boss into the shielded boxes to help DPS the ADDs down - but this means I couldn't heal the tank or the DPS in it x.x
This part is a little bit of a blur but it was a combination of not having access to the Tank or DPS and the same as last wipe.
I believe there was a fourth wipe, but now it's just meshing together. I ended up having to jump in the ADD barriers with the DPS, ADD, boss and tank just to ensure some healing x_x

Bray, luckily was only one wipe, but certainly not proud of it. It was just a lot of shit hitting the fan and a not knowing wtf just happened. And my fault for even thinking things were okay.
Int he section between the salamander boss and before the mudpuppy boss, the tank tried to skip some pugils and go straight for the mob with the hay-somethingrather in it.... the peiste looking thing. Stray pugils came along.... and we had ourselves a giant mob. Myself and the Fae spammed... some stuff died.... and it appeared the tank was good and full and wasn't taking a lot.... so I Adliq'd, started applying DoTs to bane and help out, assuming my fae would heal in the mean time. Next thing I know the tank has nearly zip HP.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFfffffffffffffffffffffff--------k.

On the flip-side, I tend to overheal, since I'm not used to (nor yet trust) having the there to faerie heal also (so I'm healing as if I'm solo).

I can WHM.
I apparently can not SCH.
I have not found that balance yet.

Granted, this was at 3am and 4am, but... still...

So I decided to power through my last 2 atma books today, plus helped my dps friend with dungeons for his.. also had to run roulettes to get sold..

...duty finder is not for the faint of heart right now! I guess it a way it was a bit thrilling, but gaaah, the size of the pulls and number of close calls were insane. Monk+ninja? Hell, pull the whole floor, why not!! Took 5 minutes to drop that one mob? Might as well do it again~ Was much much nicer when we got the black mage for a speedrun.. even if the pull was huge, at least everything dropped quickly.

Hullbreaker Island.. everyone's hp is dropping, tank hit double digits, monk/ninja pair and monk isn't aoeing.. somehow managed to keep us all alive through that pull. Copperbell Hard, whole floor gets pulled in one shot, whole party hp dropping again, tank dies.. felt awful, but somehow I managed to keep the bard+ninja alive through killing the 10+ targets that were left. Amdapor Keep, tank doesn't believe in waiting for buffs, have to swiftcast+stoneskin while sprinting after him on pulls, monk/ninja again.. ughhh.

I felt terrible anytime someone died, but at times proud of myself for some of the near misses. Last run of the night.. get into Pharos, first thing tank says is it's his first time tanking it so he was gonna take it slow/careful (he usually healed).. I wanted to cry and hug him. Nin-friend and I let him know it was much welcomed, other dps was on board for that, and we had a really clean/pleasant run.

Oh yes, the healer kept trying to get him to stay out of aoes, and failing. I eventually told the healer to forget about casting a single heal on me for the fight when I got caught in the sludge and just used all the healing abilities that a dragoon had or could borrow just to give them enough mp to get through the fight.

Doing titan HM in roulette. The sch kept typing a macro saying "if you would be so kind casting spell healer" to who I can only assume was me. I noticed that the sch wasn't doing anything, just running around. Eventually in the last phase I typed "can you heal please, if you would be so kind." Into chat, sadly, I pick my moments well and while I was typing I took landslide to the face and shot off the edge... The sch took a while to realise that he actually had to do something and the MT only lived because hollowed ground saved his skin. In the end a few DDs died and the MT's hp and a few of the DD's hp always hovered around half, the sch used sucor and Aldo like twice but nothing else.

I left with a com so evidently I have someone a good laugh at my pin point precision timing

Did the Ultros fight and had a Tank tanking Typhoon while doing it near the edge of the arena. Tank got blown off every single time, resulting in Typhoon chasing me down. A few critical hits from him knocked me out.

I held the tail aggro in Leviathan Extreme for about four cycles.

Yes, I used Shroud of Saints during it.

and then after the wipe the OT was like "no what are you talking about I kept aggro just fine"

bitch I'm the healer don't try to tell me that. I know when someone else in the party has picked up aggro especially when it's me

(before you think I was massively overhealing or something: All the person carting around Briny Mirror gets during that fight is Regen, and the occasional Divine Seal + Regen. There's 0 reason a tank shouldn't be able to out-aggro that)

I wasn't healing, but I certainly felt sorry for the healer in question.

Myself on BLM (i104), WAR with 10K HP (so I'm gonna guess at least i105 in VIT gear), new WHM (sub 4K HP, ~600 Cure I's) and DRG (I had more HP than the DRG) doing Haukke HM together. Without much thought, tank goes zooming off and picks up as much aggro as possible, leaving the WHM in the dust, in standard Speed Run fashion.

So, new healer (not new to the dungeon, but certainly new in gear), trying to heal a tank through as much mobs as he can pick up at once. I knew that I had to do as much damage as humanly possible as fast as possible because heals would need to be spamming constant Cure IIs and the DRG DPS wouldn't contribute too much at that level. It didn't help the tank wasn't great at holding aggro (I consistently pulled imps off the tank in the first four rooms, got aggro on Ash within the first 30 seconds of the fight despite holding back a little for the tank, basically rode Orange Enmity on the final add on final boss despite using Quelling, etc).

Healer did keep up well though, for the most part. We only wiped on the final stretch because the tank wasn't tagging everything and Regen ticks eventually got the WHM killed as trash smacked him around. Tank managed to stay alive long enough for me to kill the majority of the pack via triple Flare before we died, so it wasn't a total lose at least. WHM got my commend but I certainly didn't envy the position they were placed in because of speed run impatience.

Why do Tanks not seem to turn regen off? The half second it takes to click it off would save a lot of bother having to peel mobs off the healer when everything not pulled will go say hello to the healer. I've misclicked regen between pulls before and they just charge in with it on regardless most of the time lol.

While it was clear this tank didn't exactly know what was going on (not tagging all the mobs and being unable to hold hate on me despite equal or greater gear score), given the fact the WHM was new, I don't think the WHM realized Regen pulls aggro in such a manner either. In fact, I'm pretty sure the WHM was applying Regen half way through the pull as well. I didn't really have the time point it out as I was too busy explodifying things to prevent a wasted opportunity and forgot to mention it after the fact.

I had a Sastasha HM run last night that took well over an hour. I don't think I've had one of those go more than 30 minutes.... ever. Most of the group was just at the ilvl, but I don't blame the DPSs (DRG and SMN). The tank was simply terrible. Sword Oath up nearly the whole time and no defensive cooldown use, aside from occasionally throwing up Convalescence. 4 wipes on the second boss, 5 wipes on the final boss, I had to remind him numerous times to take down Sword Oath and put up Shield Oath. His excuse for not using his defensive cooldowns "I only have 4 and they're on a 180 second recast, so why bother?". /wrists
