as a i117 monk i do find it funny how some bosses Ifrit titan garuda levi and T9 all seem to have mechanics that take up to 15 seconds making it near impossible to keep stacks of GL3 even fine tuning the rotation to work with these mechanics it is still impossible to keep GL3 making our DPS drop slightly, it dose need a slight fix but only by adding say 3 seconds to GL3 that gives a single GCD ability time to save the GL3 with mechanics that last as long as it dose now. :3
Sometimes you just got to have Some fun
Or make the jumps of the primals faster?as a i117 monk i do find it funny how some bosses Ifrit titan garuda levi and T9 all seem to have mechanics that take up to 15 seconds making it near impossible to keep stacks of GL3 even fine tuning the rotation to work with these mechanics it is still impossible to keep GL3 making our DPS drop slightly, it dose need a slight fix but only by adding say 3 seconds to GL3 that gives a single GCD ability time to save the GL3 with mechanics that last as long as it dose now. :3
either Or would work. but seeing how some people have difficulties dodging with the time given it makes me worry for them if they were sped up, the 3 extra seconds gives enough for a decent monk to have a last second save on there greeted lightning accounting for the jumps,

There are enough people who say that the primals are easy. Faster jumps can also help there. ^^either Or would work. but seeing how some people have difficulties dodging with the time given it makes me worry for them if they were sped up, the 3 extra seconds gives enough for a decent monk to have a last second save on there greeted lightning accounting for the jumps,
uh perfect balance. needs to have a word with you.
You make it sound as if Monks are only good in fights like T8 where you can more or less treat it like a training dummy which simply isn't the case...
DK is 10% Int reduction on target. That is a significant damper on moves like Nerve Cloud in T11, and various in T13. Naturally they can be done without, and have been done, but it alleviates stress and potential wipes for sure. As said above Mantra is basically a team-wide Convalescence.
Primals do suck a bit as pretty much all of them have mechanics where you'll lose GL at least once, but that's what PB is for. Besides, they're "only" primals. I really don't care if I'm not "at the top" for these as long as I'm doing something respectable. Even though it is still easily possible to be top on most of them if you really know your job and how to time GL refreshes. Garuda, Titan, Ramuh (mechanics excepting, though that could happen to anyone), Shiva, all fair game.
As for other content like Coil, you just really need to intimately know the fight. T9 was an awesome fight for really testing how well you could play MNK. Various inevitable GL drop-points which can be countered with well-timed PBs, being able to keep up GL when targeted for Thermionic Beam, timing your positionals in P4 to optimise damage without screwing up mechanics, holding out on ToD before a known jump-point so as not to delay the GL refresh afterwards. Mnks had it very rough in terms of optimal damage there but with a lot of effort you could still pull amazing numbers in context. It's not about how stationary the boss is (lol), it's...well, about how good you are. Even if you're selected for a mechanic like Wild Charge in T10, Cursed Shriek in 7, etc etc, if you know the fight and your job well enough you won't lose GL, and even when mechanics are taken into account your numbers will be very respectable.

Because higher crits means higher dps, right?
lol
SMNs can crit for upwards of 2K damage with fester yet they're currently one of the lowest DPS in the game. Spike damage and overall DPS are entirely separate things and having one does not mean having the other. Seriously, MNK is the undisputed best DPS in the game at the moment, they are the last job to need any attention whatsoever.
