    I think the better more relevant question is, why are so many tanks always in such a hurry.

    they may have become to tanks, to help set the pace they wanted. Could be they also feel it's expected from them. I know in my DF use, there's usually (not always) at least one member who isn't happy unless it's done as fast as possible.
