I think the better more relevant question is, why are so many tanks always in such a hurry.

"A wise man speaks because he has something to say. A fool speaks because he has to say something."
they may have become to tanks, to help set the pace they wanted. Could be they also feel it's expected from them. I know in my DF use, there's usually (not always) at least one member who isn't happy unless it's done as fast as possible.
I had a tank ask me if I was going to kite the adds at this boss when I went in the other day on my Scholar. I didn't say no, but I did tell him that I'd never done it that way before. He said "Oh, okay" and we did it the "normal" way. I have no problem with suggestions, but in this case I think he decided it'd be more trouble to explain than to just have the DPS destroy the adds instead.
Many fear change and will fight it with every fiber of their being. But sometimes, change is what they need the most. Sometimes, change is what sets them free.
I think the normal way is a lot better, I heal the pt, holy spam the adds, dps the boss and be done with the whole thing before I even realize it. To each their own I guess.
Why is doing a fight the way the developers intended a bad thing? Anyone can ignore mechanics and burn a monster, but that basically turns the player into a macro. I suppose if you are in such a hurry to finish that 2 more minutes is honestly unbearable then go for it. The only reason to grind dungeons is to get a zodiac weapon. You don't need a zodiac weapon for performance reasons unless you are doing FCoB. If you are doing FCoB you can get a 130 and 135 weapon with less time investment. So it seems to me the only legitimate reason to grind dungeons is for a vanity item. Why rush to get a vanity item?
This would be a horror healing story, since the 3000 needles aoes are somewhat fast cast and wide aoe, some people tend to get hit by it, not to mention if i were to use scholar, the dps like to place the aoe near the fairy for unspecific reasons thus, making the fairy die.. And if i were to top and heal em, i'd be dead.. :s.. Hopefully this strat will never be popular..
Heck, i even disagree to ignore adds in other dungeon with randoms like how people do it recently in pharos sirius.. Healers will be chased around with dozens of dogs and zombies, and yet the tank and deeps will eat every aoe and not interupting any lethal cast.. That's how i see it recently with blind speed run started from garuda hm.. And them people wouldnt even give commendations to healers after doing all that stunt because 3s is wasting their precious time..

Keep in mind that some healers aren't comfortable with kiting and some dps may be concerned with...well their dps potential. Speed run methods are generally high risk just to save time. The rewards are the same. So I don't blame them for deciding to go with the slow method.
