Why are some players so resistant to change?

Every time i run Sunken Temple hard, i pop a macro that talks about the second boss before the fight.

If nobody knows, there is a way to speed run (of sorts) the boss and almost 100% that you wont die to 100,000 needles

Yet sometimes when my macro is done, maybe 5 seconds, people say "oh no, the slow way is fine" or "if we wipe, we wipe"

why bother gathering all the mobs and speed running before this boss if you are just going to shoot it down? i have killed the second boss in less than 30 seconds on several runs

You mean the cc matriarch-style 'healer kites everything but boss' strategy? Works like a charm I agree, but it will take time for more to get on board. It will happen.

Ignore adds, Burn Boss. Once Second Big Cactaur pops, LB it, kill it, then kill boss.

Here is our method, because sometimes second cactar will be kited too.

Healer kites adds, as soon as second big pops, tank gets hate, dps (perfered melee) LB and continue to burn boss.

Oh that. Idk usually in the parties I'm in people ignore the unimportant adds.

the only real issue i can see with this method is that she spawns A LOT of adds, A LOT A LOT. And the tab targeting system in this game is really, really bad. When that add spawns, you have about 10-15 seconds to target the add, kill it, retarget the boss and then stop 1000 needles. The retarget issue can be fixed with a simple focus target, which I always do for that very reason.

While I would be fine using this strat with some of my FC mates, since I know most of them are competent, I would definitely be uneasy trying it in a PUG. if you fail it once, you then have to retry with no LB meter, which will just make things worse. The 2 minute walk back from resurrecting is probably shorter than the additional time it takes to kill her by just taking down the adds.

Funny thing is this happened yesterday for me. The tank was talking about this method, and I've agreed to kite it.
Then he went onto doing it the normal way, and so he died. The mobs just piled on top of him with no one killing any of it.

Lesson is make sure everyone is on the same page.

lol I started doing this the second time I ran it cos the tanks were ... untrustworthy. It's only been lately that the DF teams I've come across let me do it the "slow" way.
