Why are some players so resistant to change?

its not that i am forcing it, my point is, why knock it before you try it? people who have tried it all loved it and said they were going to spread the word

Change could be viewed as bad if its change without any good Logic or Reason.

have you done your zodiac yet? if you have not, wait until you have to run the same dungeon over and over and over again, up to 120 times to get one drop. Now image doing that at 30m a clip, wouldent you want it to go a tad bit faster?

again i only cared about that method because i was running dungeons for zodiac and it tends to get pretty boring pretty fast

Maybe it's just me, but when you decide to take up the challenge of the relic questline, you kinda accept the lengthy nature that comes with it. Just as you don't want others forcing their ways unto you, you probably shouldn't expect that everyone should bend over for you. Even in the case of running up to 120 instances of it, an additional minute (or several overall) isn't exactly groundbreaking performance. Especially when you consider that... yah know, it isn't going to be all done in one sitting. And if it is, you probably need to take a step back from the game.

Speed runs should always be looked at as a novelty rather than a norm that everyone must do. This is coming from a relative MMO vet (played for the last 12 years)... I think it's safe to say that I've seen how things/people have changed over time in the genre, and while people have grown impatient (or just more impatient people started playing), the general methodology still looks at speed runs as just a gimmick or something you don't expect out of every single player.

As someone else stated i think, ignoring mechanics/adds, burning the boss, and hoping the healer can pick up the slack is hardly a "method". Besides, dps do this all the time anyway, and all it will ever be to me is laziness. :P

And as someone who's doing the relic quest right now, over the course of the grind, the thing that will ensure the least amount of time spent on these dungeons is to ensure no wipes. 1 wipe from ignoring mechanics costs far more time than the 15 seconds saved from a good healer picking up slack.

I got votekicked earlier today because I only pulled 2 packs of mobs instead of 3 so the dps was saying in party chat "pull more, pull more, pull more" and proceeded to run and pull extra themselves before I even had a chance to. I don't mind speedruns but I like playing at a pace I'm comfortable. I resented that I was ordered to go at a less comfortable pace so that others could shave off a min or two. I'm there to have fun also not just be a tool for dps to get their relics faster.

Instead of shaving off that min or two, our group lost 5 min, and the dps in a rush lost their tank and healer (the healer had q'ed with me). Sure doesn't seem worth it to raise such a big stink.
