"Advertising" Board - Have Devs Ever Addressed This?

I don't know how other servers' party finder are but I expect they are similar in regards to players advertising crafting services, want to buy/sell, or outright selling runs. Would it be possible to implement a separate function of this so things of that nature can be separated from players actually wanting a party for dungeon runs? Pretty annoying to look through at times when I would like to possibly do multiple things.

Has this been brought up before and gotten an official dev response?

To be clear players shouldn't be able to queue while advertising and I don't agree with selling runs and advertising that.

No, because that would decrease visibility.

The Party Finder functions correctly for this.
It's not that big of an issue.

If there's 20 entries, 7 of which are crafters, 3 of which are mercencary groups, the latter being various content. It shouldn't be that hard to distinguish what is what.

If you're looking for a BCoB group, you have to sift through the FATE/Dungeon/Trial party-finders, therefore it's the same problem. You're going to have to sift through things you necessarily don't want to do in order to find it.

No, it's a "Party Finder" not a "Dungeon Party Finder" players can use it to recruit for whatever type of party content they want to do, whether it's hunts, rp, exploring, maps, crafters looking for people to craft for, or other activities. not just for people that want to run dungeons.

How would it "decrease visibility"? Buying / Selling of things would have their own place, which seems logical. I want to buy an item from a possible crafter, I look there. Not I want to buy an item, let me look for a party that wants to run dungeons.

It is two entirely different things, and the buying and selling probably are NOT intended to be in there going by the Recruitment Criteria. People are just using it that way because they can, doesn't mean there can't be a better and separate system for it.

    - Duty Roulette
    - Dungeons
    - Guildhests
    - Trials
    - Raids
    - Quest Battles
    - PVP
    - FATEs
    - Treasure Hunt

That's fine, those are intended. Crafting and selling, not so much.

"Refer to Comment" allows open ended party functions. If what you listed were the ONLY options, this would not be an option listed.

If only they had added a search function that let you filter party finder to find what you're looking for. You should suggest that feature!

........ oh wait they added that when they added the PF feature in the first place.

It was never intended for any sole-single purpose.
That's why a custom party-finder option was added, if you want to advertise your moogle suit dance party you can.
If you want to advertise your 4-star crafting, you can.
If you want to sell your house you can.

Think of it less as a party-finder and more like a bulletin board.

If there was an alternative system, it would require even more system resources (a problem they had with the party-finder in the first place) and even more importantly less exposure.

Diluting the party-finder would solve one problem, but create more in the process.

If they separated it, people would not use it and end up shouting EVERYWHERE.
