Rather have people advertising in PF than shout channels, most of the people on my blist are not RMT bots but ppl spamming the shout channel with "xxx selling yyy, loot is your /tell me for info"

This suggestion would actually be an inconvenience to some.
If someone wants to look for a coil/hunt group or whatever but also happens to want something crafted, having to click between two windows would be an inconvenience.
After the first glance through, you're only checking the bottom of the list anyway, all the new entries go there.
Wouldn't all that clicking take more time than just scanning the results once? The very least they could do would be adding a new category to the PF to sell/craft, as that's specific enough to deserve it. And then let us select which categories (plural form) we want to see at once, so that we can filter what we are not interested in. Problem solved: we don't have to bother seeing things that we don't want to while still being able to see multiple categories at will, and with no more server resources needed (you just change the query, or it can even be sorted out client side).

Nope, as those would be just filters for people that want to see multiple PF entries at once for different kind of content (because they simply want to see if there's anything that interests them, even to help, or because they want to see what's being sold), without having to deal with things that they aren't interested in in that moment. The selection can be saved temporarily or even client side, as it's already done with many things (PF included), so that you don't have to check it each time. You would still have the current search feature to look for a single specific content, as it is now.

I agree that it is fine as is. Yeah I have to scroll through and read what's listed to see if I want to do any of it, but even if the advertisements weren't there I would still have to scroll.
And what about people looking for parties that aren't interested in doing any of the normal things? Just a couple days ago I needed people for a screenshot that I was setting up for the contest, and with the hours I'm on being very dead I needed all the exposure I could get. I'm pretty sure nobody logged on that night planning to dress up as an orphan and pretend that I gave them a present, but when they saw the party finder entry I got several inquiries and people interested in volunteering. I would have been out of luck if I had been stuck posting my request on a separate board.

Here we go again with the "buying a clear automatically equals RMT" bull... >.>Yes? Less people that are actively trying to clear, less people to actually form a party with. More people who might not be skilled enough to actually clear the content due to getting carried. And promotes potential gil buying, which promotes gil sellers, which promotes bots.

Working as intended.....

I have to agree with others in the thread, the party finder has a filter that allows you to essentially only see the content you're actually looking for already. Nobody is forcing you to look at the people selling stuff. While some type of announcement/trading board would be cool, I'm willing to bet people would continue to use the party finder anyways (probably both in that case if possible) in order to increase visibility of their sale.

Saw a party finder once with the guy looking for players interested in doing 1 on 1 matches in either call of duty mw3 or ghosts and wagering gil. Beyond thinking that it was funny I couldn't find two shits in my pocket to give.
I prefer it not be the new market board.
A few is fine but sometimes, it gets out of hand quickly.
If there are enough of these sell/buy parties, eventually people will need to spam chat to advertise what they are selling, which I've seen a few times on busier days. If you hate RMT tells, you'll hate it more when someone is spamming chat that they are selling 2 rose gold nuggets every 30-60 seconds. Take that and multiply that by 20-30 individuals and it becomes very annoying, very quickly.
