"Advertising" Board - Have Devs Ever Addressed This?

Then you change categories? Or just scroll down the list like normal, non-entitled people who don't demand a feature be tailored exactly to their personal demands?

There are a lot of people who use PF for finding statics, recruiting for statics, advertising various services, and looking for services, in addition to building groups to do specific raid/trial content. PF is the best way to broadcast to the entire server, and you want that to go away just so you don't have to push the down key a few times.

I think you are really missing my point.

Let's say everything that involves killing SOMETHING / doing actual content, is Group A.

GROUP A:
- Duty Roulette
- Dungeons
- Guildhests
- Trials
- Raids
- Quest Battles
- PVP
- FATEs
- Treasure Hunt
- ADD Hunts category
- ADD Spirit Bonding category


Now, everything else that's not that stuff is Group B

GROUP B:
- Buy/Sell specific item/minion/runs
- Crafting services
- Recruitment
- Whatever


To get to A, you go to Party Finder like normal: Party > Party Finder = Do Content
To get to B, you go to lets say: Social > "Open Market" = Do other stuff that isn't content.

You're still missing the point that it's an unnecessary change.
Even on the most populated servers the party finder isn't THAT congested, you simply hover over or toggle-through the listing. It should take you no more than 30+ seconds to decipher what content is available.


Separating it won't really solve any problems, you can still provide a comment on anything, therefore people will choose "The Howling Eye (Hard)" and use the comment to type "4-Star Weaver Service Available"


Lowering the visibility of thing is a major no-no. People don't want to separate things into multiple finders;

> Service Finder (Crafting/Mercs/Items)
> Content Finder (Dungeons/Trials/Coil)
> Recruitment Finder (FC/LS/Statics)

That's a 1/3 of the visibility, RIGHT THERE. No-one wants that, it's nice to see everything in one place. I often see things and think "Oh I can do that" "I want that" or "I feel like doing that", separating them only generates more effort/problems.

The game has NO other bulletin system to advertise things (Crafting/FC's/Linkshells/Items/Services/Requests/Hunts), and there's a reason for that. The party-finder serves as that function for EVERYTHING.
It's a MINOR inconvenience that you might have 5-6 party-finders that are labaled as 'Crafting/Merc Runs/Static Recruitment)




tl;dr

The vast majority don't mind it.
Just because YOU don't want to see it, doesn't mean no-one else does.
Separating ANYTHING from the party-finder lowers it's visibility, no-one wants that.
You will inevitable see content you don't want to see/do in the Party Finder. You have to just deal with it.

I think there have been other minor inconveniences that have been addressed, like changing teleport names. Why is it so bad if something else can increase convenience with a change?

There have been countless borderline useless suggestions on these forums, and something that can serve a purpose is somehow bad? Increasing the size of butts is more important?

No, because that would decrease visibility.

Everything else that has followed is just you demonstrating that you didn't bother clicking the other buttons on the PF, which includes the Search button to narrow criteria.

How many things are on the PF in your server that makes scrolling down through them an issue? Even on Gilgamesh (which is one of the biggest servers), we rarely have more than 25 things total up in the PF at once.

Let view this party finder from another perspective,shall we? Op issue asides, I find out that PF sometimes can be very inconvenient, time likes,say for example, I want to advertise for my crafting business, I literally have no choice but sit there and wait to re-new the ad every 1 hour. I can't join in a pt while the ad is up, can't run any instance because the ad is still there. In short, I can't do almost anything while advertising,making that can be a pain in the ass. Of course, I could shout the ad but it is not as effective as using PF. I wish in the future,SE can put up a true "Advertising board" where people can advertise for their service in a period of time (Either fee or no fee applied), while they still can go do other things, like Primal,Duns and not wasting time waiting and wasting time.

Then again, if you are advertising for your service but 90% of the time you are engaged in instances, what's the point then?

When customers sees an ad and wants something, they want a quick response. Sends a tell to the seller and expect a speedy reply, reach a deal and commence the commission and receive the goods ASAP. If they need something but you are un-contactable, most likely they will move on to another seller.
