Flaming crush is bugged. It has a really short range. It can't even hit 2 dummies standing next to each other.

Bane was never nerfed, the tooltip was simply wrong.

Don't forget you tested this on a dummy....
A SCH is rarely in cleric stance the whole fight.

Bane, since the beginning of 2.0, has only ever been able to spread the DoTs to three other targets. This was never indicated in the original tooltip. S-E has since made the change to the tooltip indicating the maximum amount of targets Bane can spread DoTs too.
Bane was never nerfed, only shown improper information.

I'm convinced OP is trolling..

I main SCH. (I have much better gear on my SCH then my SMN). When I'm doing my beast tribe dailies I do them as my SMN. Why? B/C things die so much more quickly. The DOTs may indeed do more damage with my SCH vs my SMN. But my SMN kills things so much more quickly then my SCH. Doesn't matter if if's a single mob or a group of them. In both cases given the choice I will go as my SMN and NOT my SCH.

The original Bane (like 1.0) used to spread to all enemies in a 5 yard radius.Bane, since the beginning of 2.0, has only ever been able to spread the DoTs to three other targets. This was never indicated in the original tooltip. S-E has since made the change to the tooltip indicating the maximum amount of targets Bane can spread DoTs too.

I don't think Bane was in 1.0, but as I'm not a Legacy player, I can't quote this directly. I found a list of XIV abilities here and Bane's not listed, but don't know how accurate the list itself is.
With that being said, for AAR, Bane's tool tip provided incorrect information and the tool tip was changed in patch 2.1.
2.1 Patch Notes
I believe there was a Dev post about it too, but can't seem to find it ATM.Action help text has been revised for the following actions:
Bane
Now correctly states that Bio, Bio II, and Masma are spread to a maximum of three targets.
