Well a good whm can out dps a lot of pure dps jobs in dungeon trash pulls with large pulls just the way the game works.

I unfortunately rarely see SCHs AoE in dungeons. A fair deal of WHMs do, but maybe because SCHs underestimate their AoE DPS? Or that they see I'm a BLM and take the lazy route.
Yeah I legitimately think WHM has the best aoe in the game. BLM has dat flare but it can only flare so many times.
Well its cuz both Summoner and Scholar's aoe in general is sorta poopy. Yes, the 4 mobs you managed to put your DoTs on will melt, but the other 4-8 hitting the tank are still going to be there when those die.
I reallly want them to just make bane spread to all enemies nearby. x_x I mean, that wouldn't be too unbalanced would it?

Why wouldn't you use Ifrit-egi on large pulls? Flaming Crush is 110 to all nearby enemies with a 30 recast, vs Aerial Slash's 90 damage to target & nearby enemies (which I read as a cone attack).

The main difference between SCH and SMN aoe is that SMN has more burst due to CDs, contagion and enkindle, so with all cds up, SMN is going to melt faster a group of trash mobs occasionally. However, under reasonably long periods of time where AOE sustained damage is taken into account (this situation happens rarely) the SCH can and will keep up better than the SMN because aoeing drains mana at a faster pace (Shadow Flare, Miasma II and Blizzard II are all mana expensive).

A baned contagion is often better than 20 more potency on your pet 30 sec cd AOE, unless everything dies very fast and mobs die long before dots are about to expire.
