I'm disgusted with the bard nerf.

Months later, bards are the lowest DPS in the game.

Bards are suppose to focus more on support then damage. Plus, they can continuously throw out attacks from a range, versus the melee , who have to stand near their target and have a larger threat of damage, and casters, who are restricted by cast times and can't move while casting their powerful spells.

Months later, bards are the lowest DPS in the game. Ballad and Paeon still penalizes -20% damage to bards for singing for the party. This penalty should be removed. Bards should not be penalized for singing. We should also think about restoring BfB and IR to their original value.

Let's revisit this with the buffs to black mages and dragoons.

Support which is very useful atm in fcob. Not to mention (I mained BRD for first 6 monthsish of FFXIV) are able to keep up constant damage while moving, something BLM and SMN has to work around, moving=loss of deeps. Or melee which have to deal with all the PBAE (point blank area affect).

A well played BRD will throw out some impressive damage and use ballads when needed without having a massive impact on their damage abilities. Of course not as high as melee for obvious reasons.

While I really don't mind my TP battery doing more of them cute damage done (/pet), I think BRD is already too popular a job to warrant a buff from what it is now.

SE doesn't want to see 3 BRD per full pt.

TP shouldn't be an issue because MNKs are still the primary TP sucker, if they don't need for a TP song I don't think NINs would need.

What I really think about BRD is that it could use some adjustment. I don't think it needs to be top DPS, it will probably still be the lowest DPS but at the very least, do something about the bloody WD on weapons and scaling. At least, maintain a reasonable gap right? Every other DPS job are getting 1 more WD than BRD for that 20 item level increase and if this continues the gap would be a runaway.

If I wanted to do major ranged DPS, I'd roll a SMN or a BLM. But I don't... so I'm not.

We aren't really support though. We can't heal anyone (outside our LB), we can't raise in battle, we can't make others stronger (other than offensive casters).
No one runs out of TP to make Paeon useful at all. The really need to fix that song, not nerf RoD.

There more then just 1 way to be a support class... O.o Healing is just one way, Time Mage is.... Bard for XI was and don't for get RDM was a support job too. Yes yes there all a lil DPS too, BUT there also Support.. Bard is a Support/DPS as well.. Healing Tp/Mp and buffing damage for caster DPS for party members is still support O.o YES you're right in the point of there not more Support then DPS, but support is STILL support after all.

Even now can you say bard is a Support class with its little songs... it has.. and with the songs they do have... can we get oh Idk.. HP regen, or ones that hinder us even more once we sing lol
