what is wrong with saying that they are aware of it and either working on it or just telling us what we need to do to fix it? that is just good serviceI still can't understand what you want to hear from SE.
It's seems to be a connectivity issue (Otherwise VPN's wouldn't work on some ends). This issue is bound to another company than SE, maybe SE is also waiting for confirmation from this company too... should SE just say "we are working on it" to satisfy you?

Just by stating it is a server side problem yesterday SE had saved a lot of people from sinking their time into analyzing what the problem is. A task that is actually SE's job. Their silence has caused hundreds of people to bother their local ISPs, made them install software that may or may not help to circumvent the problem and generally waste their time with a problem they can't solve at their end.
