    Just by stating it is a server side problem yesterday SE had saved a lot of people from sinking their time into analyzing what the problem is. A task that is actually SE's job. Their silence has caused hundreds of people to bother their local ISPs, made them install software that may or may not help to circumvent the problem and generally waste their time with a problem they can't solve at their end.

    As already mentioned before the problem is most likely not SE-sided, because via certain VPN's the problem doesn't exist at all.
    If those who use all their time constantly whining would use it to learn about carrier-technology and transit ISP's, they'd maybe understand that the current issues indicate a problem on tier 1 and tier 2 network..

    Let me break it down for those who didn't understand it yet:
    More than likely not SE's Fault.

    It's still SE's fault to fix it.

    I give you an example. The MMO I work for had severe lag a while ago. We checked with OPs, the devs and no one could find anything. Turns out it was problems with the provider. We then had to work with them to get the problem fixed. It is not the player's responsibility to fix issues with SE's provider.

    It is SE's responsibility to identify exactly what is causing the problem and to make sure that it is being fixed.

    Every MMO/Internet company will have issues with their ISP once in a while. It is the MMO's company problem and they should complain to their ISP, or route around their ISP if they are multi-homed (don't put all your eggs in one basket).

    In any case it would be nice to hear that the SE acknowledged there is a problem, and that they are working together with the ISP to see what is wrong, even better if they said that they have temporarily routed around their ISP until the problem is solved.

    And as i can see you didn't spend any attention to my words, instead you just try to find the mistake that SE did.

    Again: It is not about the ISP of SE, it is not an issue in tier 3 networks, else it would have completly different symptoms, it is on tier 1 or tier 2, here a link:

    From what i saw in the traceroutes it is gtt and level3.

    You don't call a tier 1 or tier 2 provider, your local tier 3 provider does that.
    It is not SE's responsibility to fix that, neither it is yours or mine.

    Oh and even if SE would open a ticket to fix the connection to the dc and they have a 2 or 4 hours servicelevel, even on weekends, then that issue would still have to be directed to the carrier, which won't do anything before a weekday most likely.

    Hey hey, you know, they are humans... Maybe they didn't learned the magic spells yet to solve this kind off riddle!... Could happen with every other MMO... Even with steam

    Same problem here, It started last week for me. I had Comcast come out twice over this and even updated equipment. I couldn't stay logged on no matter what I did.

    Can say what you want, the problem started Friday afternoon on EU, there would have been more than enough time to get it checked.

    It is and will stay SE's responsibility to check these problems.
