A job utilising carbuncles: possible?

Could carbuncles please be relevant as an end game job? After all the dungeons and battles with the carbuncle, I am sad to realize that the Carbuncle disappears and is replaced by Fairies (SCH track) and Egis (SMN track).

Alternatively, a Soul of the Carbuncle Summoner, or a Soul of the Carbuncle Scholar, where the summons would automatically be Carbuncle equivalents of Egis/Faeries if you do the quest line for the carbuncle soulstone.

Seeing as how there are plenty of vanity and furniture utilizing the carbuncle model, or promotional posters of FFXIV with the elf-like race sitting on a chair with the Carbuncle on her lap, it seems like it would have incredible potential.

TLDR. Do you love carbuncles and want to utilize carbuncles? Maybe chime in with a vote or a suggestion for a carbuncle based job. I have heart the devs are listening.

They should bring back (or bring anew in a superior form) carbuncles for summoner. After all....Carbuncle IS a summon in a variety of past FF games (ff8 carby forever <3). To shun it off from the summoner job is basically telling an existing summon/gforce/esper that he/she/it isn't one anymore >.<

I don't think it would work allowing another job altogether to use carbuncle but I really hope they consider a ruby carbuncle for the next smn pet for the expansion.

Hi, could you be more specific about "devs pretty much said no" part? Like how was it said.

I'm so glad so many people agree!! I agree with everyone: carby was such an important part FOR 30 LEVELS of fighting and tanking your instances (topaz carby) and to just make it disappear seems totally unfair.

If a job isn't viable, I really wonder if a Soul Stone (Carby) for SCH and SMN could be implemented perhaps as a side quest or maybe even in the MogStation shop.

"No plans to do this as this is the image of the Arcanist." Essentially. What they didn't state that people figured out is Egis are designed to be "skinned" over Carbuncle, basically Carbuncle is the "class" and the Egi is the "job" - So there's a carbuncle for every Egi which means they would have to redo the system in place to allow Carbuncle to be used on SMN for example.
