A job utilising carbuncles: possible?

I won't lie, the fact that you can't use carby for SMN or SCH is why I have zero interest in playing either of those two jobs.

Carbuncles are awesome. And they really should. I mean if a sample of the population are all talking about using carbuncles at end game, why not? It's just possible tweaking of some value and damage calculators. (Right now the damage difference between emerald vs garuda and topaz vs titan is about 10 potency - roughly).

Yeah, the fairies and egis just don't appeal to me at all. My friends used to play FFXI back when it was still new and I loved the carbuncle, so when I started playing FFXIV, I wanted to have a carbuncle for myself... only to find out that I would have to give it up partway through. I NOPE-d right away from ACN after that.

"No plans to do this as this is the image of the Arcanist." Essentially. What they didn't state that people figured out is Egis are designed to be "skinned" over Carbuncle, basically Carbuncle is the "class" and the Egi is the "job" - So there's a carbuncle for every Egi which means they would have to redo the system in place to allow Carbuncle to be used on SMN for example.

If it is skinned over, then it should just be a case of reapplying the Carbuncle art layer since the skills and increased potency is already in place. I'm not sure how that involves - in your words - redoing the system.

At least summoner should get a "Carbuncle Stance" or something for people who want it. I know that I have zero interest in summoner after seeing the Egis (I'll level and unlock all of it because I'm a completionist, but only if the Egis are completely redesigned or replaced by Carbuncles, it will be on the bottom of my list of classes).

You could also remove your job stone when you're not in a dungeon. That's what I do when I feel like seeing charby while I run around.
