Not really. It would just be the same as before the weekly limit was removed. Most people join syrcus for sands, which are at the end anyway so feel free to leave after your win. And if they are going for armour, then what stopped them from leaving after they got their piece before the patch? And since I never had an issue then with people dropping after getting loot, why would they now.

That wont be a problem, if they drop a full party, they gonna have 30min block, and someone els gonna join in progress, everytime there will be someone joining in less then 2min, trust me.
I was thinking about it and our odds are actually less than 1/4 because we really have two 1/8 chances per run. What's the difference? All has to do with how a player- could be you, but odds are 7/8 it's another player when it does happen!- can get BOTH sands in the same run. I instead got the second highest roll for BOTH sands yesterday, and the highest losing number I rolled on the first was > someone else's winning roll on the second. FML.
I got more of these when there was a weekly lockout, I wish they'd add a third to each run because before demand is met, so much weathered gear is going to be stashed with a retainer and replaced with poetics. It's not just the main pieces you see and UAT weapons people want to upgrade, it's stuff like weathered soldiery belts.
Currently, let's say I need 8 more across my classes. That's over at least 32 runs on average with less than 1/4 chance per run. FML x 24.

It's funny you mentioned this, because I actually won both Sands in a ST run last night. It was pretty awesome, if I do say so myself![]()
It's funny, as some FC mates of mine and I were talking about this just the other day. We've all been having some real tough luck getting sands/oils for our non-poetic alts.
I had this suggestion and it seemed logical to me: Make the sands/oils a 1-posession limit. That way folks that are actually using them can continue to farm, obtain and upgrade items with them, but the hoarders are stuck with 1 each.

I think soon, in the upcoming patches, they should just do that everyone get 1 sand and 1 oil per run.
Why ?
Becoz, if I compair to the previous mid-game gear, the 90 was much easier to get before than the 110 now, you need to get lot of poetic, witch are harder to get than the previous tokens, and cheap gear with hunting (20-30seals/peices)
Also, once you got those cheap items, you didn't had to upgrade them, now you get ilvl 100, then you have to upgrade them to 110.
It's so a pain, just to play my alts for the fun, that I tought about using only items from SCOB for my alts, whould be less a pain, even if T8 is hard to clean with pugs (I'll not try t9 again, this is a real pain)

I pretty much gave up running ST for sands only after running it one time since the release of the patch that removed the loot lockout. The instance is very time consuming to receive absolutely nothing, so I stuck to farming SCoB with some friends, and had better luck in t9 and t8 than in ST.
Interesting... so would that put the odds of a run where a player who ISN'T you getting BOTH Sands at roughly 1.5% x 7 (basically the odds of getting both, multiplied by the number of other players). Meaning someone should expect to see someone else get both sands in every one out of ten runs. I know my figure isn't exact I'm just doing rough estimates in my head.
