That is because your Monk is a good Monk. It takes a good Monk to play the Monk at their potential. It takes a lot of factors to play well, being comfortable with the fight, knowing the timers on your buffs/debuffs, knowing when you can go in to get in a few extra hits before mechanics like T9's Thermionic Beam happens, etc.
Ninja requires none of this, because all their power comes from a passive buff that is always on and a Ninjutsu that does not need to interact with the enemy, they can do good DPS without being a good Ninja.
It's not good overall balance then if class skill ceilling affect its maximum potential dps in a game where enrage timer exist. Why not have a group of monk/monk/bard/blm. Why even have ninja, dragoon or summoner when there are superior class out there? That is because your Monk is a good Monk. It takes a good Monk to play the Monk at their potential. A good player should be able to reach more or less the same amount of dps with whatever class he's playing, Not be punished for picking a class that is slightly easier to play
We might aswell nerf paladin into the ground because of how god awfully braindead they are compared to warrior
