    I feel like this is an overarching problem with alot of previous content. This very similar to crafting and gathering progression. Needing X items to advance, but X items never getting an increase in drop or a nerf to the number needed while they continue to tack on more and more steps. Just switch X out with Alexandrite or Mastercraft Demimateria. SE seriously needs to review the way their new content interacts with the old content. The only real endgame stuff that's properly nerfed to interact with new content is Coil and EX primals. Crafters, gatherers, and relics don't really get the same kind of nerf proportional to the aforementioned endgame content. Sure, relics got an atma drop increase, which is nice, but that's virtually nothing considering Atma weapons are just reskinned i90 weapons. On the other hand, Levi EX and Ramuh EX have easily obtainable i100 weapons that require a substantial amount less grinding, and Shiva EX drops i110 weapons of all things without needing to grind for Alexandrite, and will eventually get nerfed and allow people to get easy i110 weapons.

    The point is, none of this stuff is proportional to the new content. Crafters/Gatherers and their Mastercraft Demimateria, Relics and their Alexandrite, neither of these have gotten proper nerfs to compensate for the fact that they're not as valuable now that progression has continued, while Coil and EX primals continue to get nerfed as new stuff is added in. It's not really very fair or very good game design and needs to be critically reviewed.

    it wouldnt be bad if the content somehow related.

    Problem is nothing is related, thus like you said, all the old content is old and dated and like you said things like Novus etc are just old but still equally time consuming thus anyone wanting to obtain the next step in the line of steps has to put forth and absurd amount of effort in relation to just obtaining something else. Why try for Nexus when you can get i110 from shiva or i115 if youre kinda good from turn 9? There is no point for a newer player.

    BUT

    If they made it even remotely viable you bet your gil new players would put forth the effort towards nexus and materia etc if they knew it was customizable but didnt take 50 times as long to do. Thus more game play per new player, and old players would go back and obtain all 10 Nexus such as myself thus even old players would put more game play in.

    At the very least they can re-add B ranks so there isnt a 2-3 hour span where there are no hunts, or at least so you dont need a party to do hunts, and can farm at your own pace.

    I am assuming you mean revert B ranks to actual hunts instead of having them as they are now with elite marks, since they never technically took B ranks out.
    I would rather they leave the B ranks as they are and instead revamp hunting with several new A and S ranks and an adjusted tome, seal and log drop rate that is viable for 2.4.
    At least considering that all the stuff you buy with hunt seals is somewhat outdated anyhow, I don't see why it shouldn't be made easier to get stuff by adding more hunts and higher drop rates.
