It's pretty common. People think that because they got a shiny nobody else should be able to get that shiny months after they've moved on to higher tiers of content.

It is fascinating indeed. Barely anyone cared in WoW when previous content got nerfed because they were too focused on beating the current content.

probably because ppl cleared it very recently and don't have a chance to lord it over people for long. It's quite literally the dumbest thread I have ever seen.

Don't know if you ever played WoW, but a large majority of people could not beat a raid even on Normal mode until it was toned down. Basically it is the same situation here.

What made FFXI unique in its use of gear wasn't that it was necessarily BiS for years. It was the fact you could macro in gear swaps for abilities and situations that made a lot of its gear old/new viable.
