Equip any of the following that you have:

Intimidation - this one goes without saying.
Accomplice - use on any healer that grabs hate, and make liberal use of it on the healers of your party throughout the battle to consistently reduce their hate and increase your own.
Cure/Sacrifice II/III - Start the fight with you taking care of your own healing, using tier 2/3 heals so you grab the massive hate generated by heals. When your MP gets low the mages can take over, but by then you'll already have a headstart on hate amount.

Make sure everyone lays off the Ogre for about the first 30 seconds of the fight or so... around until when the ghosts first teleport to the middle, allowing you to secure a good amount of hate.

I am no healer so I'm no expert there but, I believe our mages have been keeping to cure1 and not going any higher until at least the Ogres hands are on fire and he starts to do more damage. Our GLA normally tries to keep himself above 2k HP and only has the mages heal him if he drops under. Would probably also matter on whether or not your mages are having to cure/curaga melee or not too.

so, maybe it could be the potency/tier of the cure spells being used? Again, Im just a melee so don't take my word lol. But this is what our mages discuss on voice chat, using low tier cures to manage MP and keep hate off.

    I think I got it.
I only have PGL and MRD on R20, I'll try to get them to R30 as soon as possible.
Also, I heard something about a very useful ARC trait that you get on R20, but didn't get it's name, do you know what it is?

I still prefer GLD = Gladiator and GSM = Goldsmith.

And FYI, that's just SE's terminology. Did you know that Pugilist is actually PGL and not PUG? But of course no one ever brings that up
But it's odd how, if you notice on the forums currently, there are over 9000 post correcting the localization team of their spelling and terminologies. I did know about the PGL abbreviation and correct people all the time in-game as well. I don't mind how and what people choose to think, but I ask and will continue to enforce proper grammar set in place.

Why is it FFXI hasn't had this issue? Illiterate WoW player consuming the FFXIV market?

Quick Nock and Multi Shot are the only 2 things I remember at R20 for Archer. Maybe your talking about Decoy at R36? Deploy a decoy capable of absorbing ranged and magic attacks.

Archer's trait is Out of Sight, which essentially does the opposite of Intimidation. Something a tank should never equip, and a mage or DD should always equip.

Also Accomplice is a make or break skill for a tank, especially now. No skill will grant you greater appreciation from healers.

I'm confused, are you calling me an illiterate WoW player? I couldn't play that garbage for more than 10 minutes. I'm a veteran FFXI player if you were wondering, 5 years of my life spent playing that game.

It just seems more natural to say GLD(GLA) GSM(GLD) PUG(PGL) LTH(TAN) and so on.

FFXI never had the problem because the abbreviations were everywhere in the game; <job>, linkshell windows, /sea windows, party windows, etc.

Don't see why this is such a big issue to you anyways, Raikki was just picking on me

I'm tired of people crying over things that are difficult...If my group went in and beat the Dungeon the first, second, third, or fourth try...we all said that would suck. The game is supposed to be challenging, you're supposed to get to a point where you need to step back and think of what is best to do in certain situations. It can be done without ARCs, we now know this, so whoever is complaining about ARC heavy PTs now can create their own without ARCs.

The only thing that hurts many Dungeon PT runs I go in is people standing around in shock that 4-5 mobs are attacking us at once, and aren't doing their jobs...A Gladiator that refuses to Wardrum and cure himself is simply a bad DD in that case...a Conjurer who isn't aware they can Sleepga needs to be aware, re-applying Protect 2 and Shell 2 as well. Your no longer a DD you must realize this and move on to your current role. I've seen ARCs who just stand back and refuse to shoot...maybe they don't want to waste money or afraid of getting killed...Long rant and I apologize but people just need to figure out their classes niche.
A role is not a class. That's where you've gone wrong. Why should I have to take a gladiator? Why can't I take a PUG or MRD instead as my tank?

The point was that we just do it with whatever setup is available instead of tailoring a party to get the easy win. We still use 2 GLAs, just because we enjoy it like that. I mostly go along for comic relief, sometimes Raikki lets me tank. Oh, and also because both gladiators are awesome players.
