We go GLA, PUG, MRD, LNC, ARC, and 3 CON.
Having all mages and archers is not what is intended for the fight. SE would not make a game with casual's in mind, and then in the dungeon only allow mages and archers to be successful and get invites.

What is with players that don't want specific roles in a Dungeon...why do you think there is certain classes who tank, those who heal and those that deal damage...Who thought that they were going to be able to run through a Dungeon without a Gladiator...or someone to heal. I'm tired of people crying over things that are difficult...If my group went in and beat the Dungeon the first, second, third, or fourth try...we all said that would suck. The game is supposed to be challenging, you're supposed to get to a point where you need to step back and think of what is best to do in certain situations. It can be done without ARCs, we now know this, so whoever is complaining about ARC heavy PTs now can create their own without ARCs.The point isnt that its impossible, the question is who does it easier, and to be honest it still a problem that they made content that seems to absolutely require 1 gld, 2 con, and reccomend archer DD. and another gld.
The only thing that hurts many Dungeon PT runs I go in is people standing around in shock that 4-5 mobs are attacking us at once, and aren't doing their jobs...A Gladiator that refuses to Wardrum and cure himself is simply a bad DD in that case...a Conjurer who isn't aware they can Sleepga needs to be aware, re-applying Protect 2 and Shell 2 as well. Your no longer a DD you must realize this and move on to your current role. I've seen ARCs who just stand back and refuse to shoot...maybe they don't want to waste money or afraid of getting killed...Long rant and I apologize but people just need to figure out their classes niche.
A role is not a class. That's where you've gone wrong. Why should I have to take a gladiator? Why can't I take a PUG or MRD instead as my tank? What is with players that don't want specific roles in a Dungeon...why do you think there is certain classes who tank, those who heal and those that deal damage...Who thought that they were going to be able to run through a Dungeon without a Gladiator...or someone to heal. GLA PUG MRD LNC ARC THM CON CON
22min. to spare in the end. GLA tank thought we couldnt win even from the start. We won, cleared, and even had time to poke the hidden boss. Goes to show that if u can play your class right then everything goes heck smooth.
tanks can be either GLA x2/ PUGx2 / GLA+PUG
helps if u have 2con +1mage
Hints to win:
1) Pay the hell attention when the minions disappear
2) Stoneskin prz

What SE should do is add a move to the mob that does some AOE damage using a “lob” so if the ogre finds it’s dealing with one Tank and 7 ranged it will lob the AOE damage at the ranged guys in the same way it would do the damage to the upfront DD so that ranged parties have the same kind of problems as the upfront DD and then everyone can have fun figuring out actual strategy.

though I'm not for or against stacked parties what you would suggest would completely eradicate placement in fights.
A lot of this is probably going to change when the Job system is in place. A Japanese interview confirmed Bard as one of the Jobs being added, and the only really likely Class it would be linked to is Archer, considering the other jobs that have been revealed. I think while a Lancer or a Pugilist might not be capable of putting out enough damage to warrant the extra damage they take compared to an Archer, I think a Dragoon or Monk *will* deal substantially more damage than an Archer or a Bard. It will shift their focus from a generic solo build with balanced offense and defense, to a party-based build focused much more heavily on damage. That might also come with abilities that make them more useful as a DD in dungeons than an Archer could be.

The only tip I have for this fight (we almost beat him last nite) are:
-Once you reach the room of ogre position everyone on their respective spots and let only the tank/s trigger the cutscene, that alone saves teh CONs from using a curaga 2 on the whole party to heal from te starting firespit.
-If you want to punch the living crap out of him DO NOT DO IT FROM BEHIND unless you wanna get buttstomped to death, position yourself on THE SIDES of teh ogre to avoid him using his buttstomp.

im not sure if thats a good idea tho. Couple times we did that, by the time everyone ended the cutscene the tank was in red HP >.>The only tip I have for this fight (we almost beat him last nite) are:

When the cutscene ends you have a good 3 seconds to scatter away, and that was usually ok for us. Just another option.
You can skip the CS (esc x2 then "yes")
Irana's tip seems to be a good one, we haven't thought of it ourselves. Though we never really have a problem with starting the fight as we always skip the CS, giving us enough time to position ourselves.
