I think may people is misunderstanding this thread.

This is not a 1.0 vs ARR thread, or was not my intention of it to be one.

I'm just sad to see everything that Tanaka tried to put into the game go instead of being worked on or improved (because gameplay ideas and mechanics are only good or bad depending on how they are implemented). Sure, 1.0 was severely lacking in that aspect and the consumers made it pretty clear, but that doesn't mean the ideas behind it are not valid, it just make them unfinished, unpolished and incomplete.
I'm not saying that 1.0 was perfect (even though I enjoyed it more than ARR so far, and I've been on opposition or disagreement for almost every change Yoshi-p has brought to the game ever since he took the mantle as Director/Producer) or that Tanaka is better than Yoshi-P or whatever. I just happen to be an alien that likes Tanaka style of making games, Yoshi has another, which I enjoy too (hence why I'm still, and will keep playing ARR) but not as much as Tanaka's.

The change of DRK not having a base Class is just another indicator if the intention of getting rid of the Armory, which is one of the main axis that made XIV a great and original game among all those in the market, so it's just another step in the "WoWfication" of FFXIV and that makes me sad. And even if I can enjoy this kind of game, I like more Tanaka's way of doing things, even if he would have been a better producer if he listened to his customers a little more, and to his execs a little less.

It's just a matter of personal taste, nothing more nothing else.

On a final note, all of you guys have nothing to fear because Yoshi-P is here to stay and will keep making the game more akin to your tastes, and the few of us that liked Tanaka way of doing things are left with no game to go (yet).
